    Over/Under Rated and Cocky athletes

Mention which players and an explanation.

    Overrated:

Rajon Rondo- Yea the flame is going to becoming from this choice, but look at the people he has. He clearly has the BEST spotup shooter in the game, Ray Allen. He has Paul"ina" Pierce who can hit a consistent jumper. There is Kevin Garnett who is almost automatic free-throw line extended and the top of the key. He can throw lobs to Shaq or Glen. With 5-6 former All-Stars/Future Hall of Famers, not averaging 13+ assists a game would just be horrible. Then we have his jump shot and free throws. How many starting point guards in the league shoot worse then Shaq at the line? I won't start on his jump shot.

Dwight Howard-Obviously the best center today in the NBA. He has 3-4 post moves, no jumper, under 65% from the line. In the 90s, most "superstar" centers has a decent jumper, an arsenal of post moves and hit a free throw on a consistent basis.

Lebron James- The King, The next torch holder, etc. Whatever you want to call him, hes just a stat stuffer. Cocky, immature, and disrespectful are what Team USA's Jerry Colangelo, and Mike krzyzewski have called Lebron. In Cleveland, they had nobody BUT Lebron. While on the court, he had the ball over 70% of the time on offense. Their offense was give him the ball move in a circle while he drives and hope he scores or he passes it. 2 MVPs, hated by a state, and no June hardware or wins to show for it. Lebron James is Pete Maravich 2.0.

*Jerry and Mike called him these things on a Yahoo interview

Hasheem Thabeet- 7'1 or so, can't score the ball, can't play defense, doesn't like contact.

Andrew Bynum- Has an enormous ceiling of potential, but consistently gets injured.

Joe Johnson- Recently signed a 5 or 6 year/125m deal and averages 17.2 points per game, 4.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. The most overrated player ever to receive a 5/6 yr/100m+ deal. Hes immature, has no 3-point shot, and plays mediocre defense. Usually stars make players around them look better, but Josh Smith and Al Horford are the two players making him look better.

Brook Lopez- Can't play D, can't rebound, and he can't pass. 3 Negatives in a sentence, but whatever. All he does is catch the ball one dribble, pump fake, up and under or a hook shot.

    Will update the list.

    Underrated:

Luis Scola: How many 20-9 are shadows in the league? Luis is. Ever since FIBA, he has been on a scoring tear and hasn't received any big media attention (ESPN, NBA.com, etc).

Raymond Felton- After leaving Jordan and co, he left to NY. Ever since arriving, he has been seen career highs in nearly every category. Sure he has Amare, but now he is now the obvious No. 2 scoring option.

Russell Westbrook- It was Durant, now its Durant and Westbrook. He might lead the league in assist/turnover ratio, but he is always trying to find ways for his teammates to score. Penetrating and kicking are what is he is really good at.

You just love to hate on Lebron. You hate on him for not having any hardware, but once he makes an effort to get a ring by going to the best team you hate on him for that to? Cause "he took the easy way out," seriously where was it going with Cleveland? His stats have gone down since joining the Heat.

He also dropped 5 of 6 three pointers to beat your beloved Lakers by 19 points.

This is my list therefore you can't choose my opinion. Since when does a single player get the option of choosing who is and who isn't on a single team? O Lebron did. He has a bad taste of talent, only going off past season stats. He didn't really take the easy way out. Going to Chicago would have been taking the easy way out; Rose, Boozer, Noah, etc. Becoming the second option seems to fit him a lot better. Stats do not mean anything when nothing shows for it. Karl Malone, John Stockton and Reggie Millers are the unfortunate victims of that. Next time, post your own list. I love when people defend one player/team when their own is struggling, Kings.

We have no opinion until we can reach their level.

Lebron should never be considered. He is a great plyer, one of our best, you think Team USA would deny him if he wanted to come play? No. He denies them...You're an athlete, your behavior shouldn't signify anything. The media blows little incidents way out of proportion. I'd like to see Gilbert Arena's pull out his gun at any player 50 more times. That doesn't change my mindset about his performance as an athlete. You should care about what is on the court, not off it.

    If i am to choose

    It would be..

Oj Mayo, too much Hype on the young man, "The Next Kobe" died....I hope for the sake of him something sparks in his future.

What about last season in the playoffs playing the Boston Celtics? His stats were impressive in the series, don't get me wrong, but the effort... He could of done much better then he did in some games. Many people consider him "great" just because of stats. Wilt Chamberlain had arguably the best stats of all time, but he is just a forgotten memory.

You're definitely right about Luis Scola, but I can't say Hasheem Thabeet is overrated, everyone knows he sucks so why is he overrated??

Some other underrated players are ( i play fantasy so heres to for a nice list)
Lamarcus Aldridge, ( Alot like Scola)
Wesley Matthews, ( Is now averaging 20 points+ for the blazers recently, stepping up for Roy)
Kevin Love ( yeah, I absolutely reckon he should get more attention with his points + rebounds, only got mentioned because of his 30-30 game)
Roy Hibbert- nearly 20-10, great efficiency and really underrated in the pacers.
Louis Williams - nearly 20 pts a game off the bench for the 76'ers
Beno Udrih - Not alot of spot light on beno, but leads assists and scores next to Tyreke for Sacramento
Andre Miller - Uh, nearly averaging double double each game? dishing lots of assists

    Cocky players -

Your explanation for why Bynum is overrated makes no sense at all. Other than that, I agree with most of what you said.

He gets injured all the time, and his ceiling for potential is great. What is there not to get?

If you lived here in LA and if you were a Laker fan.. Your answer would be different.

After Kobe/Pau/Lamar, Andrew was supposed to transform from an All-Star to a Super-Star..

Rajon Rondo: He uses his speed to set up his teamates. Of course it would be a plus if he had a jumpshot so other teams can't just double team other players, but he still gets his job done. I don't think he even gets much fame at all compared to the big three, so I don't see how he's overrated. Paul Pierce in my opinion is just fat and slow now.. and I think he's very overatted.

Dwight Howard: No argue there lol. Needs a jumpshot, or any shot for that matter.

Lebron James: Although he probably gets more attention than he deserves I don't think that necessarily makes him overrated. He wants to win.. if he was a "stat stuffer" why would he join two other all stars? He wants to win. He just overpowers anyone that tries to guard him and has incredible mobility/athleticism for his height and weight.

Andrew Bynum: Has good footwork but needs a jumpshot.

As for underrated, I don't agree with Felton and Westbrook. I find they hog the ball way too much and take unnecessary contested jumpers with time left on the clock. They should be passing to KD and amare more often..

Ginboli is definitely underrated. He's the reason why the spurs are 29-4.

Kevin Love is also probably underrated. He's a rebounding monster..

Oh and for cocky athletes I forgot to mention Rasheed Wallace and Charlie Villenuava.. god I hate them so much. Wallace shooting 3s during games with his off hand and charlie tweeting before games that he's "definitely going to win because his team is better" which is funny because he plays for the pistons lol.
