Two sections; One thread.

I saw this, and thought "there should be a way of posting one thread for two or more sections", I understand you can post a link in a section, but unsure if this will "bump" like usual if someone posts in the thread, by what I mean is.

Original thread is in Comm. General, A link is posted in CS:GO discussion.

Would be nice to be able to have automatic redirects so it shows up in multiple forums but is in reality just one thread.

 

Yeah, Crossposting is what I meant, so the thread will bump in both sections if posted on, im not sure if this would mess up how the database handles thread directories, but reddit does it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Would this be used though? How many threads fit in multiple places that u want to post the exact type of thread of?

If I post a rs 07 selling thread, I still wouldn't want that same thread for rs07 buying.

I don't mind this suggestion, but I cant imagine it being super useful for more than a few sections...?

 

Mostly useful for the community development teams so we can post information in numerous related forums.

Then this thread doesn't matter. Why would you need community support to make a tool that assists the CD related team's ability to post information? Is this something that the admins would need to spend time implementing or can't the Technical Core setup a bot to do the same thing?

If it's going to take up the admin's time, no support. It doesn't help the community directly, and there are a lot of other parts of the website I would like to see updated.

If it's a Technical Core project, support. Although, once again, I don't know why it would need community support.

I linked this to the tech core boys, since this needs an administrator with server access, such as Sythe or Matthew, it's also a suggestion, I don't need support from the community

 

Karl, if you can find a xenforo add on that does this Richard will probably be more inclined to approve. If not then this is going to have to wait for a while as there's a lot to do and it's not a priority. I did a few searches and couldn't find anything on my mobile

 

Pretty sure I already suggested a redirection system.
Basically for the use of CDT events.

The fantasy football thread could also use things like this. It's both sports and gambling. I'd also like to point out that redirect != crossposting

 

Wasn't gloating, was showing people what I suggested. In the hopes my suggestion, (which I'm not sure was accepted on the basis of the redirection system) could be helpful with the above suggestion.

Redirection relates to hotlinks, like the rules have a hotlink to a specific section, or there being a hotlink to PokeGo marketplace from discussions. It is something that is already possible without the need of implementing another add-on, which I know Matthew doesn't like doing.(putting in more add-ons)

 

I have literally no idea what you're talking about. The suggestion here is to crosspost

Example: You make a thread in both community general and cs:go, whenever either thread is posted on they are both posted on. Not redirect links to certain pages or whatever the fuck you're on about
