will i be banned?

i dont know if this is in the right section of forums. my apologies if not.

i recently purchased an account from another sythe member that had been botted on. here is my scenario and question:

i have been playing on the account and training and such. other people have reported me for botting simply because they think i was (i was not actually). i have not botted EVER since i have had the account (a few days). i am curious...will i be banned if someone reported me for botting if the person i got the acc from botted but i have not botted since i got it ?

You don't get banned because someone reported you for botting. It takes much more then that.

 

Yea man, its when you sit in random events stilll logged in for hours that Jagex starts to get suspicious, a few reports are nothing, now thousands of reports...thats a different story, say you sit messed up at rock crabs for 17 hours, that is a different story, but a few reports here and there is nothing to worry about. Also if you DO plan on botting alot in the future, the easiest thing to do is utilize the name-change system and make your name hard to report, such as using a combination of 1's l's and I's that way even if alot of people say they reported you, they most likely didn't even get your name correct.

 

i didnt mean that i thought i might get banned simply because i was reported but i did not know if the ban would alert jagex, in which case my question would be if jagex would detect the botting from the past owner of the acc...?

thanks for reply. very informative. i do not plan on botting ever, but that is a great suggestion (about making hard name to report). i like that idea
