    I disagree with this, nobody cares about the max cape tbh.

    In my opinion what did the most negative damage was the introduction of the grand exchange. Before that people had to interact with eachother and make an effort to trade. With the grand exchange this social aspect that comes with trading normally got removed, making the game much more individualistic.

    Purples used to be called pink by most people in classic because they were all named "Party hat" and it looked pinkish.
