turbocharged or supercharged

What would you do to your car? Turbocharge it or Supercharge it?

Turbocharge is more for like long races for a really high top speed but supercharge is for quick speed and a little top speed increase.

thats what i know and can anyone teach me more if you know more about it?

and what would you do to your car?

 

I'd turbocharge instead of supercharge.

 

yea ive been thinking about it but you would need a lot of room and a cop radar, where in supercharge you can just slam on it after the red light. but you still need a cop radar for exibition driving.. so i guess turbo

Definitely turbo charge, twins if you can. But yea, dont get a cop radar, get a jammer. Its safer for you

 

I would get the supercharge. I wouldn't care much for top speed acceleration would be more handy. Considering you weren't racing just using it on public roads, but if you where using it on private raceways you may want the other.

 

I'd pick super charged. I'd rather have a instantly fast car than fast for a long time. it's not like I'm going to race with it or anything.

 

Yeah, I'd go with supercharged, IF you aren't going to do races. I think it'd be more handy anyway

 

Turbo gives you more power but it can fuck up your engine.

A supercharger won't give you as much since it relies on a pulley.
But they last longer and are safer.

The turbo makes up for what is lost compared to supercharger.

Also don't be stupid and just put a turbo on your car especially if its stock. It will fuck it up.

You need to upgrade the pistons, rods, crankshaft, headgasket.

Im sure im leaving out a lot of other important stuff but if you just install a turbo on a stock car your gonna ruin the whole engine.

 

well i dont know a lot of cars are comming out with turbo because it improved fuel economy. It might over time mess it up

 

When Flameset said that you shouldn't just shove turbo into a car with stock parts he was not refferring to cars that came with turbo as stock. So buying a car that comes with turbo would have all the appropriate parts for it. So its not going to mess it up.

Your getting to into it with the cop radar and such, just because you have a t/c, or s/c doesn't mean you have to be so reckless that you have to watch for the cops.

PLUS, once you crack open your piggy bank on any of the two chargers you'll probably not even want to waste the cash on one.

And like someone else said in another post, you can't just buy a turbo and drop the bad boy in lol. Theres much more to it than that. If its stock, your going to need to upgrade alot of parts. . .if you want it to last that is. Your also going to have to add parts also. BUTTTT you can buy a kit that basically has everything you need to install a turbo charger. Then again your going to have to upgrade the parts on the motor so you don't blow it with the boost you will be pushing.

My friend has an 05 srt4 (4 banger) I think its nice. My friend is rich, he upgraded his turbo, blow off valve, intercooler, bored out his pistons, upgraded crank and cam shaft, new flywheel. you get the point lol. Just recently he popped his motor mounts and cracked his block.

HE put like 6k worth of upgrades into a car that was already built for a turbo, and he still fucked it up.

Imagine what your going to do to a motor thats stock, and not made for one lol.

I supercharger doesn't give like an instantaneous boost or someshit like that,
and i turbo charger isn't just a higher top speed.
Someone's misinformed you..
They both basically work on the same idea but, forcing air into the engine to make bigger explosions thus creating more thrust.

The diffrence between them is that a supercharger is always working,
Where a turbocharger gets whats called a turbo lag, meaning it has to be at a certain amount of revs to kick in( maybe that's where you got your higher top speed from?)

Turbo's are alot cheaper than superchargers so i'd get a turbo.


oh and to the dickhead that said get a jammer, life isn't a video game dipshit.
If a cop car see's you speeding a "jammer" isnt going to do shit.
hm and a scanner is pretty much useless unless you plan to be in high speed chases, cops dont always just spout the location out on radios..

turbo charge in a race you need to top out on speeds

 

in general superchargers are for larger motors mostly v8 or higher as they already have the top speeds and turbo is for your typical toybox 4 or 6 clnder with smaller engnes.
