    Turboboost question

I was wondering, if a cpu has a base factory clock speed of say, 3.1 ghz and has a turbo boost of 3.9 ghz, wouldnt that mean the highest speed of the cpu without oc would be 3.9ghz? and if thats right, and 2 processors have the same turboboost speed, wouldnt people buy the one thats cheaper? Im talking about these 2 processors:

    and
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116502

its not much of a difference except in the base clock speed and the price, and if turboboost can raise the clock frequency to the same level, wouldnt people just buy the first one as it would make more sense?

The 3770S is a power savings one, it runs at less wattage than the others, and gives a little less performance. Neither of those processors can be overclocked though, only the K series can be overclocked.

    Haha you are welcome:)
Both are great cpu's though, real world scenarios you would not see the difference in performance, only if you are doing seriously complex computing taking up 100% CPU usage. The only difference you would see is wattage draw, but only while under load, I believe idle is the same.

The S series is made for computers with restricted cooling setup, as it gives off less heat than the regular or K series.
