How will the human race go extinct?

This is not asking "HOW THE WORLD WILL END???".... There have already been many occurrence that could have wiped out the human race without destroying the earth. As a matter of fact, there are signs in our planet for proof on them.

Science proves that if we haven't cut our carbon by 90% by 2030, then carbon emissions in the atmosphere reach 430 parts per million. And that is the point at which, unequivocally, that most of the worlds major ecosystems go into positive feedback. The biosphere becomes a net source of carbon dioxide.

That is scientifically proven.

 

Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Cyclones, Meteorites etc.

I don't believe in global warming, so I don't think that will kill us imo.

 

I don't believe in global warming either. The earth constantly cycles through cold and hot stages.

One theorem is that the poles will switch at 2012. It is a random event that could cause massive death even extinction but it cannot be marked to one day.

A theorem isn't a theory, and the world theory used in the common context, meaning 'idea' is different than a scientific theory.

The earth's poles switch every few thousand years or so, iirc from what I've previously read. I don't think there is any clear evidence whatsoever to suggest this event happening again in the year 2012, and this is put forward as part of the nonsense regarding 2012 as the end of the Mayan calendar.

 

Jimmy, 2012 was also predicted by the world's most famous prophet.

Tbh I really don't think our race will go extinct for thousands of years, and no one really know what will happen so this thread will most likely just end up with a flamefest.

I'd be thoroughly surprised to see the human species live on for 1000 more years, and to be alive (but that's neither here nor there.) I think that the Human species won't kill the human species, but small groups formed by dangerous, small-minded people will blow us up.

 

When we use up all of earths natural resources and are unable to harvest from other planets. Which will be in the next few hundred years.

 

Why can't we live another 1000 years, the human race has been around for over 100,000 years we just have developed. We are getting smarter, life is also much better then it was 200 years ago.

I doubt out of all the thousands of years the human population has been around we will die out within a thousand years, we can still survive double the time we've already passed.

We live in dangerous times, with dangerous people, who hold dangerous weapons.

 

That is a good point, but the majority of people do not hold "Dangerous weapons" we are just living the normal life.

 

In some countries, the generations growing up now are predicted to be the first to have lower life expectations than their parents, as a result of negative diet and lifestyle overall. While I am not suggesting this will be the cause of the extinction of the human race, we are no longer improving as a society as we once were.

It is impossible to put a date on the extinction of the Homo Sapien species, but it is plausible that at some point civilisation will collapse as a whole, whether the result of an action (nuclear war etc) or of gradual deterioration.

 

It doesn't take the majority of the people to blow us up. A minority - with the capabilities, i.e., the weapons, the will, the want - could easily do it.

 

I think either a disease or some external event is most likely to cause extinction to humans.

I highly doubt global warming will even be seen as a major issue within a few decades, once everyone gets over the hype and more scientists admit they manipulated data. I also don't think extinction by nuclear war is very likely at all.

 

Global warming is a cycle that the earth goes through...It's real but just not what it was meant out to be. Thank you Al. I think the humans will wipe them self's out. Possibly bomb each other...Or maybe even technology will kill us off..I AM THE TERMINATOR! no but really that's how I feel anymore..If natural disasters don't kill us off first.

 

Either we will make our earth uninhabitable, or a meteor or something could hit us or the next time Planet 10 passes us we'll be pulled out of orbit, caught in a sun storm or be hit by one of its moons.
Or.. if we live a VERY long time our sun will start to die and become a white dwarf... during that time the sun will expand past our orbit and the planet will fry. That's if we're still on Earth in a few millions years. The only way out of that would be to (1000 years prior to the sun exploding) somehow get a large meteor near us so it will slowly pull us further out of orbit.

The most likely is us killing ourselves in a nuclear war.

 

There is no way of telling, that is my opinion.

 

I don't believe in global warming or that the world is going to somehow go extinct in 2030 from carbon crap. The world will end when god deems so, however he chooses.

 

Judging from what we know of history, species go extinct naturally. It's just part of the 'circle of life' so to speak. It's safe to say humans won't be here forever (forever's a pretty long time), so some find it entertaining or intelligent to fling suggestions as to how we might go extinct like monkeys throwing poo at a wall.
