I don't like it to be honest. There is minimalism that is for effect and then there is minimalism that looks like it is unfinished or that no effort has been put into it. The scanlines are much too much and at best should be taken down by 40 - 60% opacity. There is nothing that is an attention grabber or anything unique. It is just kind of boring and it isn't working for me, especially if it's going to be for a graphic design portfolio/company.

Great job Kin, but for me personally I do not like those tiny black lines going diagonally across the page, it detracts from the actual text which is the important part!

 

It's alright. The scanlines are much to harsh like Nero said earlier, and I feel a more well-defined background image would help immensely. The dropdown menu looks like it was slapped on top and really doesn't blend well, and the shadows behind the text / boxes could use some improvement, particularly softening.
In any case you also need to get the rest of the pages for the theme put together, Wordpress templates are more than just front pages, you need static content pages and blog post pages, as well as loads of other things.

Good start, but there's lots more work to be done.

As said (twice) before the scan lines are way way way too harsh, and completely destroys the BOKEH effect you were going for with the blur in the background.
