Dispute Forums - Go in order?

First off, I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TIME IT TAKES.
All I'm saying, is why don't moderators reply to disputes, scammer and spammer reports on a first come first serve basis?

 

If you want a Dispute Read, then why not send your Dispute Link to a Moderator that you would like to have read it? In some cases, I have sent a PM to a Mod about such an issue, so it can be dealt with before it is forgotten.

The Disputes were just approved by Daily and an Admin yesterday, and so the Dispute Forum was flooded with a lot of Threads. As you can see, they have all been dealt with, minus a few. There is only one page left.

You must also understand that the Staff have lives outside of their own, and cannot be on Sythe to aid Users 24/7.

In my opinion, the Report a Scammer / Spammer Forums need more attention than anything else. I understand that it is part of the Staff's job to be active in these sections, and are obviously being neglected. If it weren't for the help of Cfrey, Finn, Darkgroove, Macroman, and Tgump, the Anti-Scam Forums would be greatly out of hand.

 

Already several similar feedback threads have been made, all to the same conclusion. The mods are busy (a.k.a lazy). You cannot really fault them for that as they already work so much to correct the site's wrongs, at least they eventually get around to answering it. If your thread is unread after a few days, bump it with a message saying something like "Excuse me but could someone please review this now?" etc. Saying "ffs review this already" will just get it locked, or an insulting response.

The mods do a lot of work, especially in the report a spammer/scammer sections. Sympathize.

 

I understand they are busy. All I am saying, is do it on a first come first serve basis.

Again, I understand they are busy but they should reply to them in the order they are created.

 

Did you honestly just skip over what I posted?

There are a total of FIFTY, (count it), FIFTY PAGES of Anti-Scam Reports undealt with currently.

So, how is this doing "a lot" of work in the Report a Scammer / Spammer sections? >_>

If this is what you want done, then why not suggest it in the User Suggestions Forum, for people to comment and discuss on. And in doing so, are you suggesting that the Dispute / Anti-Scam Forums be completely flipped around, to suit your, and others, needs?

What do you suggest the Staff do then, in order to do this? Simply start from the last page, and work their way to the front? This may be slightly more complicated, but I suppose it would be appropriate.

 

User Suggestion forums is the "Get Flamed" forum. Anyway, this is more of a feedback than a suggestion. I'm just saying I do not find it fair that they do not go in order. I realized the same situation took place in the Report a Scammer and Spammer forum too after I posted this thread.

I am still agreeing with you on the issue at hand, but look at how many days have been neglected, as shown above.

There are posts that have been neglected from the Community for over 2 weeks.
-Doesn't look that good... does it?

I just hope that there will be a day in which Mods will make it an Anti-Scam / Dispute day, and get rid of all of this Spam which constantly burdens Sythe.

 

Well this has nothing to do with my thread, but a suggestion to get them cleared up would be to make .. maybe several more moderators that are designated to just the Dispute, Spam, and/or Scam forums.

Basically promote intelligent and trusted people to take care of them.

[EDIT] That way there are full-time moderators to take care of those sections while others focus on other sections.

 

I had suggested an Anti-Scam Mod a while back, but if you look in the Forum Leaders, there is already a title for such persons. They are intelligent people that have been promoted for such a task, but have lately failed to perform the work expected.

And if you're direct reasoning is towards the Dispute Forum, then this Thread shall be rendered useless, as the Dispute Forum is one of the cleanest Forums in my opinion.

In the beginning, I made it about just the Dispute forums because that is what everyone complains about the most. It is the cleanest because it has to be approved by a moderator first and more people report spammers and scammers than appeal. Anyway, as I said I first made it about the Dispute forums but now I think this should apple sauce (Typo, I meant Apply ^_^) for all three (Dispute, Report Scammer, Report Spammer)

Exactly, recently they can't catch up to it which clearly states they need more moderators.

 

Report a spammer gets incredibly annoying to sort out, because people report the smallest and stupidest things. Somebody yesterday reported a post where someone accused him of scamming (with provided proof). Why would you report that? It just brings moderators attention. It has become tiresome work, which is why it's at page 40 now.

As for report a scammer, give me perms there and I'll do what I can, just as I did when I used to have perms there.
However, it's exactly the same thing. We get tired of seeing threads with "BLAH BLAH IS A SCAMMER [PROOF]" and the proof is a chat log. Then they expect us to ban that user when the person doing the reporting couldn't follow simple steps set out in the stickys. It becomes drudge work because no users know how to post by the guidelines.

If you want someone banned, post the ENTIRE MSN conversation and pictures of the runescape trade, hell even a PM. That's what we look for, when we see all of this proof, we can quickly come to the decision that the person is a scammer and we can have them banned. If not, you're just wasting everybodies time and the moderator's patience.

 

I agree with grave. You also should make more of the moderator's team leads so the don't have to fucking email someone higher up to ban a scammer.

 

It isn't quite that simple. There are a nice amount of banned members on sythe. Got any magic trick to solve all the disputes?

 

I think his point is that disputes are made, no mods answer for days, and then more disputes are verified, pushing the other disputes to the next page. Then they don't get answered.

 

Basically, to sum, up, some disputes are easier to solve as others. A dispute against a warning for Spam when it was in the Spam Forum can be easily ridden off as a mistake, while something like someone getting hacked and requesting an IP Check against all the accounts the last person logged into his account had. (And getting his pasword changed)

And some moderators don't know anything to do with the matter, ie. if the title name is "Shredderbeam", the thread can't be resolved until Shredderbeam views it (unless another moderator knows what happened).

 

Sometimes true but the real problem is that it isn't very fun to trace down the culprits for hours, then stand flaming from them.

He's obviously not saying that there are to many or anything about that shit... So stop posting about those issues.


I agree, they should do first serve first come in dispute,scammer and spammer furoms.

It's annoying as hell to have a valid scammer report, not have it answered for a little, then when they do decide to answer them, they answer the 30 above yours, which haven't been waiting as long, then stop before they get to your good dispute.
