Is this worth it? Would you buy it?

Yesterday, one of my parents bought for my brother a 3DS with 3 year-warranty for $358CAD (3 year-warranty was $58CAD). To me, it seemed like a rip off and not worth it as the 3DS has little features more than the regular DS you see out there. The features that it has is 3D (which not all games have), internet browsing (which is pretty shit), arcade games (shit), camera (shit quality) and other minor ones which aren't as appealing. I compared the features with the amount of money extra paid and realized that I was paying an additional $150CAD for just the features I named. The only feature which I actually quite liked was the camera feature so we were like we can use that $150CAD to buy a good quality camera.

So is it worth buying the Nintendo 3DS or the regular DS, which would you buy and why?

 

Considering I'm bias against ANYTHING trendy, the 3DS can die.

 

Wait a few months and the price will go down a lot, Nintendo knows most of their sales are in the first few mnths so they price it high then lower to let more people buy it.

 

Not worth it, I don't even like 99% of the games for DS/3DS

 

Well, I don't like the games on 3DS either so I'm just going to exchange it for a Wii. I have the regular DS and don't have the Wii. Wii has fun games, you gotta agree.

Technology will never perfect itself. There is and will always be room for more technology improvements.

 

Since you asked, personally I think the 3DS is only good for learning more of the storyline of Resident Evil, that is it.

 

The only reason I want one is for Legend of Zelda OOT, but I can't justify buying it for that.

 

Definitely not worth it if you want it just wait for price to go down...

 

Honestly I think the "3D" is bullshit. It just looks like a fucking holographic Yugioh card that gives me a fucking headache. DS lite's are still fine.

 

I think you should return it and maybe get an ipod touch or one of those android things, which has apps.

The only game I'd even play on a DS is Pokémon, which I haven't played for 4 years.

 

I'm not much of a handheld gamer I'd say no looks like a rip off to me way too pricey.
