HTML5 Canvas game - forksteroids

For GitHubs GameOff Challenge I made a simple HTML5 game.

I've never touched the HTML5 canvas stuff before so everything I did I learnt on the fly.
I don't think the code is perfect, and in fact the last portion of the work was rushed and still needs to be cleaned up. But it's working and playable, and for those interested it offers a chance to learn some things about JavaScript and HTML5 canvas.



The object of the game is simply to dodge all of the spaceforks flying from the top of the screen. No shooting or powerups like in fancy games.

Arrow keys move the players ship.


Also comes with high scores. The input field has no checking for swear words, and I take no responsibility for what others type as their name.

Fun game, reloading is a bit slow. You should add different difficulties...

 

Cheers. I probably should do something about the reloading, but after the competition is over.

The difficulty increases by adding an extra spacefork for every 3000 points.
Eventually it becomes impossible by design.

 

I was meaning for the user to change, instead of adding forks just change the amount of forks that fly at you.

Just took over the #2 spot on the highscores. Don't have a high enough attention span to get #1
