Cropping Images: The Fast and Simple way

Ever find that you need to crop a few images to upload to forums, but really don't want to run Photo shop , or other programs that don't open instantly, or programs you find difficult to use?

Well , this guide will inform you on how to

Crop Images: The fast and Simple way

    Step 1: Selecting an Image

You will obviously have an image you want to crop , once you have selected that image weather it be a screen shot , Image from your digital camera or simply a downloaded image.

    Open that Image with 'Paint'
If it's a screen shot press CTRL+V to paste the image into Paint

For this demonstration I'll use a screen shot.

Step 2: Cropping the Image: Fixed Sizes

You now have you selected Image in Paint , you will now select the cropping tool which is the Rectangle with dashes. (Has red box in image below
Simply drag the cursor making a rectangle / square over the area you want to KEEP.

    Should look something like this:

Step 3: Keep the cropped image , and discarding the rest

After you have done the above step , you will want to keep this image and discard the rest obviously. You will need to right click - Copy , then open a new Paint and press CTRL+V or right click < Paste.

Step 4: Resizing paint (Getting rid of the white bits)

Now it's time to get rid of those white bits , so you can only see your selected image. You will need to scroll to the max on the Paint border and click on the dots located all over paint window. The best one to use will be the diagonal dot.

    Step 5: Saving your Images.

Now most people would just click "Save" Or CTRL+S , Which is fine however , What I think is best is click 'Save As' - Then go to file type and select '.PNG'
    NOT JPG.

Why? Quality is better with .PNG.

Congrats! You have now successfully cropped your image!
I know you will now be asking , urrggh how is this fast? Well , after you do it a few times you get extremely quick at it. Like most things , but this is the fastest way I have personally done.

    Extra: Uploading the Image
( Thanks JohnK - Was thinking about adding this when he said it'd be good to)

    You can use many sites,
    Tinypic.com
    Photobucket.com
    Imageshack.us

    and so on....

I Personally use photo bucket. You will need to create an account but this is good - Means your pictures will stay hosted and you can go view them from any computer.

I'll let the pictures do the talking for this one...

I like your guide! It's very short and sweet and gets the point across. I hope your ventrilo guide is as well written as this one!

Layed out well, short, simple and sweet. A good guide overall, however, the idea isn't original and has been done before. My suggestion to you is to try and think of a guide that hasn't been done before.

Agreed , But honestly the other guides are too complicated and show how to crop , but not fast and efficiently , Thanks for your feedback.
