    Creating a desktop.

Looking for some help on builds.

I'm spending about 900-1100 (without OS), and just want the communities input on things to buy.

I wanna know your preferences like:
AMD or Intel, why? (not just cause of cost effectiveness).
    Gigabyte motherboards etc vs ASUS
Which graphics card to go for?(gaming- NVIDIA/ATI)
Whether I should get both a solid state HD, and a normal HD or not.

If I could get some help, that'd be great.
Looking to build my first baby, so all input contributed helps!

    EDIT:
I am looking for gaming, but using it for RSbotting, and video rendering/editing could be a possibility.
I was lookin to build this thing for long term, so i can just add pieces here and there when they start to get outdated.
i7 was what I was looking for, as new CPU's will come out soon, and I don't want to have to upgrade the most important component again within 2 years.

I was looking around on NewEgg.ca, and I've made a little build myself, and was wondering opinions on it, and compatability issues if any?
    Thanks!

    Motherboard:
    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813131837

RAM: (Idk if I should get 2x4GB's, (eventually to 4x4GBs), or to get 1x8GB, then upgrade to another 8gb later

    HDD:

PSU: (Idk if I should go higher watts).

    Video Card:

    Subtotal : $1094.43

    Worth it? Change what parts?

As for AMD vs Intel, their is no competition honestly, without a doubt Intel is the way to go. To prove my point here is a link with benchmarks for most Intel processors at the 2500k level and above, and the AMD 8150, the top level AMD-

Honestly nearly every motherboard being put out save the BIOS, is the exact same no matter what company. They are pretty uniform and cookie cutter, so most any company you go with will work, but I know a lot of people who swear by Asus, so if I had to pick one that would be it. Gigabyte is a great company though, along with MSI.

As for ATI vs Nvidia, really that is up to personal opinion, but I always go with Nvidia.

I always recommend a SSD for a computer, as it is amazing, and super fast. A 60GB SSD is cheap now a days, hovering around $60-$80 depending on brand names, so their is really no reason not to. You can also on top of that get a 1TB 7200RPM HDD for $90, so it is the best of both worlds.

I can put together a good build for you real quick, ill edit this post when I am done.

Justin gave you a build meant for gaming. What exactly are you going to be using it for? Are you going to use any and all graphic or video related applications meant for editing, rendering, mixing, recording, modeling, animation, etc? or for example adobe or CAD? botting on RS?

If so you mite prefer an i7 with a different everything, and a cheaper GPU.

If you are going to go with an i7, go with the 3770k, newer than the 2700k and faster.

If you are dead set on buying sandy bridge however, save some money and just go with the 2600k over the 2700k.

Everything else should work together, but you could save $100 on the case and spend it on better hardware else wear, but if you want a nice case that is up to you.

I'll look around, cause if the difference is worth the $ maybe, but the case is more of a precautionary, since I know I'm going to want to upgrade, and it's a big case.
