Create a discord add button (like skype) DIRECTLY TO DISCORD PROFILE

I just found this out and wanted to let people on sythe know to prevent potential discord trade scams from happening. Put this link in your signature if you are a trader who uses discord a lot, this way people won't have trouble with capital letters etc.

NOTE:
After input from others and testing myself: the user clicking the link does not need to be in developer mode themselves for it to work, however it seems like they do have to have a shared server with you for it to work.
This seems not as usefull as initially, but I will work on updating the post and looking for an even better way, input is always appreciated.


This post will show you step by step how to create your own URL, this URL will directly go to your own discord profile like such:

To start you will need to be in developer mode, to get here:

Once this is activated you will have access to your own unique ID like such:

then put this ID after the following link:

be sure to put it in one line, withouth an enter between it

 

when you click on a link though it only opens discord in a browser. is there a way to make it open in the app?

 

So far I only have gotten it to open up in webbrowser sadly
I saw a post that discord devs are working on something else tho

 

ah dang thats unfortunate. skype button is great cause it opens skype and adds the contact directly. this is a bit inconvenient as most users dont use browser but if it can open in the app directly, will be very useful. hopefully they work something out soon.

 

did a little bit of testing with this @Mots only seems to work if the user who clicks the link has developer mode turned on, and also if you share a mutual server (or have the person already added)

i may be wrong though? but doesnt seem to work for me if i dont already share a server with them

 

I didn't really think of this so i tested it myself:
The person does not need to be in developer mode himself, however it does seem correct that you need to be in the same discord server.

I will do some more testing and digging, I'll update the post with this info and i'll hopefully find an ever better way!

I do not support this. Leaves additional room for mistake/compromise of a user on a platform that already has more imposter accounts than Skype.
