Help!! Linux cannot read .properties file..?

Hi all,
Basically i can run a program on windows but when i try running it on a linux machine, i get hit with:

'Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to read properties (file location) (No such file or directory)'

'Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: (file location) (No such file or directory)'

This might be a very specific problem, as i cannot seem to find much online about it.

There seems to be a problem with reading a .properties file which stores lots of variables.
