    Corrupt File?

I just purchased a PC game and everytime i go to install it this message pops up:

I've tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling Directx, to completely reinstalling everything. Nothing seems to be working. If you have any idea on how to fix this problem, please let me know. Thanks.

    Edit:
The computer I'm trying to install the game on, is a HP Pavilion 2010 model. (Windows 7)

well it looks like this game is 32 bit and you are on a 64 bit system
this shouldn't cause any problems but maybe it is your antivirus picking up a dirty .pak file or something and deleting it

try reinstalling without your AV or firewall on

Should be a problem if you are on 64-bit.

The most logical reason for me would be your anti-virus. So stop it while you install it.

PM me with the results ;)

I've turned both Anti-Virus and Firewall off, the game still won't install.

That won't effect it if you're running on the wrong 'bit' system.

Add my MSN and I'll try and help you out some more.

What you need to do is click "Start > right click Computer" > Properties" and check if your System-type is 32-bit or 64-bit. You, like Swin said, might've downloaded the wrong file. Check to see if there is a 32-bit option anywhere in the installation (sometimes it could be in the "custom installation" option if the game has one), because it seems to me that win7 is recognizing a different file for a different bit system.

    I'll add you now.

My system is a 64-bit. There's also no "custom installation" button. >_<

    Corrupt File?

The fact that the game is 32 bit and your system is 64 bit means nothing, all 64 bit computers can run 32 bit games.

However, you can't install 32 bit device drivers on a 64 bit, so if that game requires some sort of device drivers to run you are out of luck.

    Corrupt File?

It's telling me that I have to download DirectX 9.0c, does that have anything to do with it?

As if you don't have the latest DirectX?

    Download it.

    Here's a download link for DirectX 9.0c

Still doesn't work. I give up on it for now, I'll try again tomorrow. If anyone has any idea, you're welcome to post.

So it's telling you it needs DirectX 9.0c but when you download it, it still won't work.

The whole game seem's kinda fucked up, is taking it back an option?

    Corrupt File?

DirectX is a driver required for the game, and if it isn't working after you downloaded I'd assume it is 32 bit only... Sounds like the game won't work for your PC.

    Corrupt File?

I contacted their Technical Support team, they think it's a faulty disc. They're going to upload the game, so I can download it. Thanks for your help guys.
