My favourite quote thought i'd share rate/hate.

For some reason i still get touched no matter how many times i read this, it's quite common and alot of people know it but alot also don't that's why i thought id post it, enjoy.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
You have not been there for me.
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you.​

Could not have put this better for the ones who don't relate to the quote.

 

After seeing "the lord" I stopped reading. You will not get positive response posting religious quotes, info, praise, or any other "positive" form of religion on most forums. Fact of the matter is; religion is a fairly personal thing and nobody wants to be preached to.

 

Has nothing to do with preaching to the people by posting this, Everyone has their beliefs and their dislikes etc,It's a simple statement if you think thats preaching learn the definition and come back to me.

 

Regardless of what he said, I quite like it. I also enjoy Parables from the Bible, do you know of any?

EDIT: Although you could make the font a little smaller. It killed my eyes..

 

Coming from you, that's a bit ridiculous.

I guess it's an alright quote, but there are quite a few Atheists on Sythe, so I wouldn't expect much positive feedback.

 

Assuming you were talking about my font, I don't see how it would hurt your eyes. It's a darker colour than the standard white font, meaning it would be less sharp on your eyes. His is a bright, size 7 yellow, which is right in your face and just plain annoying.

I prefer quotes with a little more intellect behind them, but I suppose it can't be helped when the topic is such.

I think that someone told me this was my grandma's favorite poem one time, even buried her with a card that said it... as if she's gonna read it...

 

Interesting quote although I don't believe in the "Lord" at all.

 

The use of lord can be very generic although in this instance it refers most likely to Christianity. Replace 'lord' with mother, father etc someone you can rely on or cherish, and you'll see the beauty of the quote.

I dislike religion so I don't feeling can give an accurate rating of this.

 

I am not religious in anyway shape or form..

But I think that is a good quote

 

I wouldn't consider it touching to myself in any way but it is pretty creative.
