iTouch Screen repair

I lent my iTouch to my friend and she promptly left it in her bag and jumped on it resulting in a 'shattered' screen. The center of the screen is where the crack starts and has 10+ legs reaching the sides of it.

Does anyone have experience with screen repair? I have no warranty.

Are the repair websites legit enough to send it in?

 

It may be worth it to just buy another itouch, I have never seen a screen repair service or anyone that can do it. You can try taking it to an apple store, they are usually very nice and accommodating.

 

The screens are generally fairly expensive to replace; add in labor costs, and if the iTouch is more than a year old, I assume any repair place will simply advise you to buy another one.

 

I just cracked my iPhone screen, I bought a replacement screen on Amazon for $24. I'll tell you how it works out.
