Contact list wiped after iOS update

Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone who is a bit tech-savvy can help me out.
Around two weeks ago, I accidentally wiped my contact list by installing a certain iOS update.

After a bit of googling, it seems that I have to completely wipe my iphone, and then reset it to a backup. Few issues with that:

- I do not have an iTunes backup as far as I know - only an iCloud backup that would be made regularly if I remember correctly.
- When I go to iCloud, my contacts are also wiped, and I cannot seem to find a place to check if I have a backup available incase I do wipe my phone.
- When trying to wipe my phone, I seem to need a certain security code that does not match my PIN. Any idea how to get around this / get this code?

I'd love it if anyone could know a way to get my contact list restored.

 

if you cannot find an icloud restore and your contacts don't show, and you made no backup i think you are out of luck. it happened to me when i deleted pictures by accident

 

I think I had the setting on that made my phone create a backup once a week.
However, I have no idea how to see if it has. Because if I cannot recover a backup, I'd prefer not to wipe everything else as well.

Though it is a pain to lose years of contacts.

 

Id contact apple's customer support right away as this has happend to me before and was annoying but it got all sorted out

 

when you put your iphone in the computer you should be able to click restore. if it does not provide you with a date you know you had your contacts than i don't think there will be a restore unless you whipe it clean agian. contact apple. but i think it's gone .. :'(
