Connecting to Xbox Live via Laptop help.

So, instead of using a wireless adapter, I can connect to Xbox Live via my Laptop by plugging an ethernet cable in my Xbox and my Laptop and using the wireless access point my laptop is connected to as means of internet. Basically, I'm using my Laptop as a wireless adapter for Xbox Live. Theres a video on it shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55MHhdetXGw.

So the problem is that I was able to do this successfully a couple weeks ago and connect to Xbox Live. But now, It's not letting me. It's not showing up on my laptop that another network is connected. And when I go to my Xbox to test the connection, it shows that no ethernet cable is plugged in, when clearly there is. I know it's not a problem with the cable because it works fine when i connect it to my PC. What should I do?

 

Perhaps an issue with the ethernet port on your xbox?

Otherwise if you have made no changes to your laptop or your xbox in the recent past, there's no explanation for your current inability to connect via this method.

 

What do you mean on my Xbox?

 

As in the port where you plug in your ethernet cable located on your xbox. It's really unlikely though.

Can you screenshot the network settings you use when you setup the connection?

 

I'm positive there's nothing wrong with the port on my Xbox.

 

I need the network settings for the Local Connection.

 

Is that enough?

 

Disable the top three and IPv4 for both connections.

 

Hmm, didn't work for me. Still shows that it's disconnected and it wiped my internet access from my laptop.
