I believe that there should be something new for new users and existing users to Confirm someone's Name, ID, or Address so that if a person attempts to scam, the law would know who to turn to.

In this, a lot of scamming will start to fade, and Sythe would ultimately become complete, as others can freely trade with each other with a higher amount of trust behind them, knowing that if they are to be scammed, they have nothing to worry about.

Well, I shall add to this tomorrow if people seem to agree with this.

I'm positive their are many negatives and reasons why Sythe probably shouldn't do this, but it please note that it was only a Suggestion.

    =P

What the hell we going to start doing? Issuing the patriot act on websites now?

And this still wouldn't stop scamming

I support this 100%, there are way to many scammers on the net
and they think they can get away with it just because no one knows them irl.

I think this is one of the most ridiculous ideas that I have ever heard of. Runescape is an online GAME. People risk they're own money buying GP which is illegal to do so in the first place based on the rules that Jagex has set forth. If someone is dumb enough to go out and pay someone real life money for pixels, then that is their decision. And if they get scammed it's simply they're fault. Someone shouldn't have to prove they're identification over a forum for an online GAME. I would not want someone to know where I live. That is my opinion on this horrible idea.

Says Mr. Trade With Caution... but anyways..

There are some trades that are not illegal that go on in this site..
I was not focusing on RuneScape at all mainly, but on the other markets.

..::From my knowledge, the selling of WoW accounts is not all illegal or against the rules. WoW supports as many people as they can to play, and in doing so, they allow as many people to share an account as wanted.
..::The selling of UGC cards is not illegal, really.

Discuss the topic more I guess, because I knew their were Pros and Cons.

Oh? Well maybe I can get a look at what that was, because I've seen that name brought up once before. I never knew what it was...

Pen, if you can get me any info on this Sythemils, it would be appreciated.
Maybe the attempt was just not enforeced well enough or it was not properly used.

    Hmm.

This is along the lines of the VU system that started the whole fight with Zamorak.org. Let's not go down that road.

Blizzard do not allow ANY kind of rwt in WoW - be it either gold selling or account trading/sharing.

It would not stop scamming in the least!

How hard is it to just write down a fake address?
I mean come on, if this was to be implemented, it would need alot of thought.

And Pen has just pointed out this has been tried before,
    Did it work? No
    Did they try again? No

Just use some common sense and don't trade with someone untrustworthy.

It would require confirmation about the address to make sure its not fake.
