This is a very interesting case in my opinion.

On one hand it sets a strong precedent for allowing gun ownership, but at the same time it just muddies the water of what legal gun control laws are. They state that "dangerous and unusual weapons" can still be banned, as can concealed carrying of weapons, but gun control advocates want to go into the homes of American's and take away their right to own a firearm, which would seemingly not pass constitutional muster.

No matter, I see a lot of litigation on both sides of the fence, both those wanting to expand gun ownership, and those trying to essentially reverse the high court's ruling.

If they ban guns, criminals will still be able to obtain them, and good, law abiding citizens won't be able to. It's a lose-lose.

i agree there's always an alternative, and yes it is a lose-lose situation. Criminals would still be able to obtain guns and citizens would not be able to. However it does bring the thought of a more safe country.

People shouldn't be allowed to have guns in their homes. It's a safety risk too themselves and people around them. Sure, everyone you know probably knows how to be careful, but many people don't. We all know the horror stories about children killing themselves playing with daddy's gun or kids shooting up their school.

These things wouldn't happen if the kids didn't have easy access to firearms. And the reason the access is there is because everyone is allowed to have firearms.

Who has the right to tell me whether or not I can own a gun?

Schnell it's obviously the parent's fault that their children are doing those things. Get a gun safe, any idiot knows they exist, but if the parents are too stupid or lazy to get one, why should everyone be punished by banning legal posession of a gun?

Resorting to guns will probably get you killed. So I hope governments will impose a requirment for citizens of every coutnry who want to purchase a gun. Also, a legal license is needed, not just buy from any store and you leave.

I wouldn't see it as punishment. Legal possession of guns is a risk to you and your family, both because of careless use/containment of guns and because it's easier for criminals to get guns.
