PS3 Software problem

My PS3 has a software problem (due to a failed update) that I'm unable to resolve. It's impossible to get into safemode due to the PS going directly to the update panel. (It always aborts at 50-60%) and gives me the error. Do you guys know how to do a factory reset without entering safemode or the control panel? (USB,.. idk)

I'm fairly sure the only way to factory reset includes you having to navigate through the PS3 menus.
The only thing I can think of is googling if others have the same trouble. If they do simply wait a couple of days and hopefully Sony will release another update that will fix that one.

 

I've had this problem for several weeks now but I just tried to fix it. Others that have the same problem (googled the error code a couple of times) were still able to get into the PS3 menu, whilst I can't.

 

Hi mate, sorry to here about the issue your having. Whilst I've never heard or seen this error before, I strongly recommend contacting Sony regarding the problem and if not gp.to your local tech repair shop.

 

Try this, im not sure if this even work but when i had a problem they told me to do this

Have ps3 in red state
Hold it down till you hear 3 beeps

If this doesnt work call sony.

 

Download update on USB and try via that or call Sony.

 

Probably going to call my repair shop, as I'm out of warranty.

That's called safe-mode, can't get into it for some reason.

The problem is that it doesn't even give me an option whether I want to start updating or not, it just starts doing it. This is the reason why I'm unable to use my PS3. So I'm pretty sure that I can't select I want to update it from a USB.
