Computers and their affect on our world

Computers have completely changed our world in both good ways and bad.
My question is would you rather live with or without computers?

Some pro's
Certain tasks are made easier
Social networking
Gaming

Some Con's
Taking jobs of humans
Reduces physical activity

 

The good out way the bad by FAR....

 

Well, I believe at this point it is far too late to think about removing computers from the world. So therefore I would say I would like computers to be kept.

I think many people who grew up in this generation are so used to having technology to do everything, that if it was taken away people would be lost lol.

Also, regarding people who are not from our generation - they have grown to adapt to it, and many business's run solely on computers.

I do however believe that computers and technology have gone a bit too far, and though it creates easy social interactions (such as on facebook), at the same time it takes away from traditional social interactions, leaving many in what some call "Hi-tech Loneliness".

Idk, just my attempt at an educated opinion.

I enjoy doing stuff on the computer. I hate that it cuts down on physical activity. idk man. I like livin with them

 

I pay my bills, chat with friends, and bot for cash with my computer. Computer and cell phone are two things that my life would be horrible without, I would live though.

 

The basic purpose of a computer is to make our lives easier for us.
Eg. Typing a 1,000 word essay is much easier than writing it out (for most people)
Researching is made much easier with the computer (for most people)

Information is much more readily at hand with a computer.
Entertainment is another option without physical activity with technology/computer.

Simply put computers have made our society lazy, unfit, unhealthy, and to some put fat. It's actually not hard to put up an argument that technology has made our society not only unhealthy, but more dependent.

To answer your question in our current society I'd rather live with. However if the option was made for computers to be eradicated for everyone except scientists, I'd prefer that.

 

My question isn't would you want them taken away from modern life it is more if you could go back would and prevent the creation of computers would you do it?

 

No, I would not like to revert to the dark ages.

I like them but I hate how you're required to have computers for everything now. I like taking pencil and paper tests, the computer tests you have to take for things are so gay. There are also a lot of stupid kids in school now because no one has to try anymore since they can just look stuff up on google or sparknotes.
