    Texting International

So I am in US, and my long time friend is in New Zealand...

Can I text him? It is a simple yes or now.

If it is YES, How, and how much?

Also if this helps - I have Unlimited Texting, but if I can text him, do I have that with International Numbers?

You can as long as you put the country code before his number (I think). Let me Google it.

Read that. There seems to be highly increased rates, so using a free online video chat service is most likely your best bet for communicating. Or email. Honestly.

Yea. Its a bit ridiculous if you want to do more than just send one text.

25 cents a text can kiss my ass. I can pay less with a pay as you go phone. Rofl.

It depends on your plan.... you can text anybody as long as your plan allows it, and the rates vary depending on your carrier.

From reading some things, normal unlimited texting plans don't help you. You need to sign up for unlimited international texting or something and I'm assuming its quite a bit more.
