Computer incredibly slow all of a sudden

About a week ago my computer randomly started running really slow. Before I could run 4 bots with out a problem and still watch videos. Now I can barely run 2 bots or even just doing normal things is really hard for my computer. My computer is still pretty new and I have done every thing I can think of to boost the speed. (CCleaner, Defrag, Virus Scan, Delete useless programs, close all other programs besides the one I'm using.) I'm pretty much lost of what left that I can do. I heard that doing a system restore might help but only if I have a RAT. Any help? :/

EDIT: Just checked the only system restore point I can do is to this morning which really doesn't do any thing.

You burnt out one of your CPU's or RAM? Maybe RAM isn't inserted to the mother board correctly. Try AVG PC Tuneup

Computer incredibly slow all of a sudden

There are some basic things to look for in all Windows systems, but then theres some type-based tricks too.

But i would start checking some of these:

    - Not enough hard disk space.
    - System data corruption.
    - Missing Windows updates
    - Outdated drivers.
    - Computer is overheating.
    - Faulty hardware

Depending on your computer, some Bios's has their own hardware diagnostic tools, i suggest running it. Or downloading some of those diagnostic softwares, PC Doctor etc.

Faulty hardware is easy to check with Linux Live CD, it runs system diagnostic on startup, and wont start if there is some faulty hardware.

Clean all dust from your computer, fans, heatsinks, all around.

System data corruption is easy to check with those CRC file system diagnostics, it check each file on your comp that its not corrupted data.

Of course Windows updates / Driver updates are never bad thing to do especially if the slowness of computer is noticed when botting in a game.

And just make sure you have enough disk space in windows drive.

I'm running windows 7 64 bit. I got all the dust out and that made the fan quieter but the computer is still going slow. I'll try the "AVG Tuneup" thanks. :)

Does the system show the correct amount of RAM? Maybe a stick burnt.

Get a CPU temperature program to check if it's too high.

Uh that sounds like a corrupted system data. Might be that only way out is re-installing windows.

Alright, so I checked and there were some system updates that needed to be installed. I did them and the speed drastically improved. It's still not where it used to be though. Any other tips?

Lets start with the basics... check your performance monitor/system monitor w/e works. If you're using system monitor subtract 12-20% off cpu load.

(dunno why but the monitor itself adds a butt-tonne)

^Basics dude, start with the obvious.

A reinstall of windows seems to be your best option.

Make a backup and simply re-install windows, I suggest formatting your hard drives and using killdisk aswell.

Have you tried cleaning the disk, de-fragmenting, etc?

As a few others have mentioned, try doing a full system reinstall. It's a real pain to do but that usually fixes most problems people have.

    A. Do a disk defrag.
    B. Stop some of the startup programs.
    C. Run an anti-malware scan.
    D. Make sure your drivers are up to date.
    E. Run Ccleaner.
    F. If none of these make it faster, fuck it, re-install.

I have to disagree, it typically causes more problems than it solves if your driver disk is as useless as most of them seem to be. Although if you're blacking it you could just offload all your drivers just after init.

A recent example, I forgot to disable an AES boot encryption when I tried to install a later version of my OS. Needless to say it went to hell in a hacksaw. :( took a while to work around it. -.-
