    Computer Building Take 2!

Hey guys. So about a month ago I was really thinking of building a new computer and such.. then scrapped the idea. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a new build. My ultimate budget is $500... so any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thankyou! Though I might skimp on the case to save 20 or 30 bucks and buy the harddrive on Craigslist. And opinions on this are appreciated!

And thankyou Smper, but 615 is a bit too much for my budget :p

No problem and wasn't sure if you cared for the case much so I wen't with a mid range one, you don't need anything special though.

Will a cheap case make it more of a pain to build though? This is a first time project.

Take a look at my build and add a 550ti. The total price will be around $515.
I would link you to it, but im on my phone. It should be a few threads up somewhere.

Shouldn't be, a cheaper case may have less features such as cable management though. How much are you looking to spend on the case? I'll look around for some good alternatives.

That will come to over $600, don't think his budget is that high. Also syphers I didn't add a cd drive wasn't sure if you had one already or not.

    $400 + $120 = $520 not $600.

You just have to buy the parts for the right price, like the CPU from microcenter.

Well I have the computer and the receipt from micro center sitting right in front of me, and it says $401.
Add the price up on micro centers website, the CPU is like $40 cheaper there just by its self. And the case was $20 cheaper.

I would advise going with Nvidia rather than ATI, they're generally better in the long run and more games are optimised for Nvidia these days (a perfect example is Skyrim). If you were on a higher budget, I would pick something out of the 600 series for you, but something out of the higher end of the 500 series is fine also.

The hard drive you linked should be fine, but brand wise I would go for - http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Western-Dig...&_from=R40&_dmpt=US_Internal_Hard_Disk_Drives
