Converting from .mp3 to .flac

Well, MP3 is very good quality, but it is second to one. FLAC. Free Lossless Audio Codec. Compared to MP3, FLAC is like an orgasm in your ear.

Programs needed:

-Winamp (easiest)
-µTorrent (easiest)
-iTunes (to find all music in one spot and replace it with this method)

You most likely have iTunes, so you don't really need me to supply a link.

Now, this is the way to go. Optimise your µTorrent settings to your download speed, there is a guide in the program and on the site. I don't need to supply a guide for that.

Search for whatever band you want, as well as "flac". For example: "iron maiden flac". You're best off picking the ones at the top, as they are automatically sorted to which have the most peers, and the more peers the faster the download.

Now, once you download the file (should take 30 minutes to several hours depending on your download speed and the file itself) you just need to right click and select "Open Containing Folder". Select your files and move them to My Documents (if it says files are in use by another program, select the download in the completed section of µTorrent and hit the X button, this stops it if it's seeding). Open Winamp, go File-Add Media to Library and enter your documents, find the folder, and you're done.

Repeat this process for all albums you had in MP3 and eventually you'll go from 160-320kbps to 1046kbps and higher.

you can in no way convert an mp3 to a lossless format.
