A brief introduction

Hello, fellow Sythe members! This guide will learn you how to split screen your browser. This feature is very handy, especially if you have a wide screen. I divided this guide in three parts, one part for Chrome, (the Browser I use, and which is, in my honest opinion, the best browser around) Firefox, (another quite popular browser) and Internet Explorer (the browser that is installed on every Windows OS).

Chrome (recommended!)

To use the split screen feature with Google Chrome, simply drag http://www.podobne.pl/splitscreen/ to your bookmark bar.

Can't see your bookmark bar? No problem.
Click Tools → Extra → Always show Bookmark bar

Done that? Now just click the Split Screen bookmark and you will be redirected to a page that should look like this:

Firefox

Go to www.podobne.pl/splitscreen/ and click on the white star.

To acces the page you must click Bookmarks → All/Recent Bookmarks to visit the page. It takes a bit more time to visit the page than with Chrome.

Internet Explorer

Go to www.podobne.pl/splitscreen/

Favorites → Add to Favorites
Create in → Links (recommended for fast acces)

To visit the page:

(Note: 'Koppelingen' is dutch for links)

Safari

To use the split screen feature with Apple Safari, simply drag http://www.podobne.pl/splitscreen/ to your bookmark bar.

A window should pop up, asking to name your bookmark.

That is all! Your bookmark is now in your bookmark bar.

Extra

Normally, the white space is filled with Ads. They don't show up because I have Adblock installed on Google Chrome, another reason why I recommend using Chrome instead of Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Just so you know, I just got this for your first pic:

Also, I generally avoid "hiding" links in a HERE link because there are so many attempted java drivebys on this site. I recommend removing the hyperlink and just posting the full URL of the site.

Anyhow, enough of the technical criticisms. This is kind of a nifty tool, although I don't like how you can't use your bookmark bar within the split screen browsing. Having to type "Sythe.org" is so tedious. :p It's a decent guide, and I really like how you put up all three major browsers. The organization of the guide is refreshingly simple yet effective. Really the only way I'd improve it is to make the title and section titles larger font size rather than simply bolded--something I'd suggest for all of your guides and your application. (Also, "Useful Links" isn't bolded at all.) Still, it is an effective guide to a pretty useful tool. I plan on using this to aide in my research projects in the future, especially. Keep up the good work, and thanks for teaching me something new. :)

EDIT: We both seem to have forgotten our peers who prefer Mac. Is this doable on Safari as well?

I removed the hidden link and replaced the picture, thanks for the heads up. I made the titles size '3', and gave them a fancy color. Looks a lot better now :p. I added how to do it with Safari, I forgot about that. Thanks for taking the time to point out where I could improve, and to actually TRY it out. You'd be surprised how many people comment on a guide without even testing it. Once again, thanks for your assistance.

PS: I will change the titles from each guide whenever I have time. :)

Thanks mate, I really appreciate that!

Does this affect the RAM? Like does split screen increase RAM usage?

I highly doubt it, since you're basically just using a website.

Yeah, it runs everything that your browser can handle in a single screen :).
