I killed my sound, please help.

I don't really have time to make this post fancy
    but

i was trying to plug something in my computer, a microphone and i accidently removed the sound card and the sound was gone, of course. so i unplugged my computer and i plugged it back in. after many failed attempts, the freaking sound wont work although its plugged in. ive had this problem before, but i do not know how to fix it. i tried playing a song through winamp and i get a message saying: Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error Code: 88780078

If there is a temporary replacement i can use to hear sound( i have a stereo with a AUX cable and thats about it.
    help please!

Reinstall the drivers. Find out what kind of card it is and post here or whatever and I'll help you look for them.

DirectSound driver. It is not a problem of it not being functional when its plugged in. I plug it in and it won't be detected and wont play anything and the only noise is that gay annoying beeping sound

Well if you know you've knocked your sound card out, then just put it back in?

Turn the power off , remove the power lead , then open up your computer and completely remove the sound card and then , on the mother board theres a circle like battery type battery o_O if that makes sense lol. Dont worry , all this does is hold a charge to keep hold of bios settings. Remove it for aout 10 seconds then pop just the battery back in. then boot up , Then right click my computer , manage then remove all sound drivers. if theres any there, because you removed it. then shut down , pop the souundcard back in. boot up then it should when loadded which ever OS you have , find new hardware , HTH any probs reply thanks.

It's the place where I put the driver, not the actual card itself.

Anyone know such thing as a USB sound device?
