Thoughts?

 

The key is not the idea but the implementation. If it's implemented correctly I could see this driving off people from using sythes marketplace. Although people who have built trust here over the years will probably remain. I see a w2 Fally vs w2 GE style battle emerging.

 

Never liked Rsbuddy either way, I'm staying here.

You were obviously misinformed about the PowerBot hacking situation. Arbiter is not guilty.

 

Arbiter was a powerbot admin, of whom I generalize as corrupt.
I wouldn't trust arbiter with a crumpled $5 note.

 

I tend agree with this statement. Look at Fagex... Once a large community, now largely ran by corrupt staff members with hardly a member.

The only thing I'm scared of is that they launch their own exclusive macro. If they do, the site can, to some extent, consolidate a mass audience because the site will offer incentive to join outside the marketplace as it is a "standout factor," per say.

But I doubt it can rival Sythe's venerable prestige and incorruptible staff dynamic.

 

Arbiter has allready previoused scammed at Pb so i don't think many people will hang out there.

 

I personally think it will attract quite some people, but I also thing they're staff won't really be able to handle it.

 

RSBuddy is officially registered as a company, so if they do ever scam you, which I doubt they will, they'll get into legal issues.

Also, the main reason Arbiter and Jacmob left Powerbot is because Paris wouldn't agree to make the bot a closed source. Then that little Ghost fella found a flaw in PB and started a mass hack starting from 1st February. That's the short version of the story anyway.

 

arbiter was one of the main conspirators in the PB hack and scammings. Have fun trying your luck there, ill stay right where I am now thanks.

 

Legal issues would require substantial proof for them to hold up, which would be near impossible to prove. I imagine he'll just keep the company legit, then when he's got enough members, slip something into the coding, and subtly take accounts possessions one by one. I personally won't be contributing, or visiting the site.

 

I don't care if it was Aribiter that was behind all of the hacking at Powerbot or not. I personally believe he was but I don't plan on using RSbuddy for anything besides their bot because of the fact Aribiter is so damn arrogant. He has way too much confidence in this project, I highly doubt they will be successful and personally I am looking forward to seeing him waste his time and effort on this project. I think that most people still don't trust Aribiter so is it highly unlikely to become popular. Sythe has an upstanding reputation and I doubt this will phase it.
