When does duel update come into place? (or is there no date set yet?)

 

Last I read, unless new info has come out, Jagex said they were considering it but hadn't decided to definitely go for it yet. Either way if they do go through with it I hope it brings a large wave of backlash from the community like the time they put player trade limits in place so they eventually roll back the changes.

 

I'm personally for the changes, and I think the majority of people are. So no riots.
Remember, we're in a bubble on this site as this is the black market of runescape, we're the dirty X'ers that sit in the duel arena with a dozen accounts in the arena who most people despise, so yeah the general consensus here is against the updates - but we represent a tiny portion of the osrs community.

 

Yes true I understand that but their are still plenty of people that legitimately stake on their own accounts on OSRS as well and the changes will effect them as well. Either way we will just have to wait and see what happens and if the changes are implemented and we will also have to wait and see the communities reaction.

From the post the Mods put out, from what I remember it said they were considering it.

 

It seems pretty definite, on the official rs update post i remember reading 'these updates will go forward without polling' or something along those lines...

 

Ah, if that is the case either I'm remembering wrong or what I read was a older piece. Guess I'll have to refresh my info to double check.

if the update happens and people can change their stats we will see a massive dump of trillions of gold for a few weeks or a month and then it will start to rise a bit later. If they just add a 1% duel tax we will see a slow increase or at least the same prices moving forward. If it can compete with the massive amount of gold coming in from things like rev caves

 

You think? i feel like if the "normies" for lack of a better word chuck their 100m banks and get lucky and end up hitting like 1b i would assume that they are the type to keep their GP as opposed to selling it.

I mean yeah, but he's talking about guys that aren't maxed/use the blackmarket. They'll instantly get rich and either

1) stake it back off to another potential NOOB'
2) stake it back off to a good staker
3) keep it and hoard it in their bank bc they don't know what blackmarket is

 

chances are itll be 1 or 2, maybe like 5% actually stop. trust me once you get rich staking, you dont stop staking until cleaned lmao.

 

Pretty sure they said after they hear the communities response and are happy they will implement it, so maybe 1-2 months?
