Disc Priests

Are disc priests any good in PvE? Raiding? Heroics?

Wanted to try it out with my priest.

 

Disc priest are perfect for Raiding I highly recommend Watching some tankspot videos as they have recently uploaded videos about Disc priest and holy priest.

 

Disc priests are INSANE PvPers.

Same for raiding.

Impossible to kill and annoying as fuck.

 

Aha gotcha.

 

Disc priests are annoying because they don't die.

 

Same with Holy Paladins and Resto Druids.

 

disc is underpowered in pve right now. Go holy or go home.

 

So should I go for 'mooncloth' set or 'satin' sets?

 

mooncloth is healer, satin is shadow.

ALTHOUGH, you could get 3 mooncloth, and 2 satin so you get the 50 resil bonus twice.

 

I'll definately do that.

 

I agree with one of the other posters; go holy/disc if you're pveing. I suppose it's purely gear based, but I noticed a huge difference (negative one) while pveing with my disc spec.

I will say I was a beast in pvp, though. xD Just got old having to respec every time I wanted to raid/arena.

 

I lold. Compare tank healing of a holy Priest with that of a disc. Priest.

 

i lol'd. And I have, they suck.

 

Anyone who says disc priests suck has;

A.) Never made one.
B.) Never grouped with a good one.


I personally have a disc priest currently 79 (half way to 80, woot. 1-2more hrs of work!)

and i've healed many of instances from 60-79 with no problem. I'm duall specced holy and have healed 30% of my instances with holy.

From my experiance I prefer healing as disc. It's alot more fun and I tend to keep people alive alot better with it Where a holy healer has Circle of Healing, a disc priest can spam bubbles and flash heals. Being able to ignore the tank as he drops under 50% to heal the rest up to switch back to tank to get him from 20-30% to full in 2seconds is not only a rush but great fun to know you can bend what all the people are saying. (OMFG WIpe, heal da tank omfgggg.)


Not to mention, nothing is funnier than occupying 4horde in WSG by spam healing myself while my friend is sprinting down the field with their flag

 

Disc priests are more for damage reduction, holy would most likely outheal them.

 

Holy priest woudn't stand half a chance at MT healing like disc does. The pure speed of casting and the depth of their mana pools are matched by none.

However, group healing is another thing. We 4manned ToTc normal (guild and I) with myself (Disc priest 80 full blue gear with mediocre enchants) and a Druid tank full blue gear with mediocre enchants

It went absolutly fine. (Afterwords we 5manned it getting another guildy to join us) but it was a blast! Even with us pulling all the trash elites before pala/priest boss I mannaged to keep everyone at top, cracking no trinkets/large cds. Our dps was a decently geared Paladin and an OK geared DK.



I do realize ToTc is not an uber hard instance, nor is it endgame instance/raiding etc etc etc.

Simply trying to get views by what I have done. As I progress further with my priest i'd be more than happy to leave comments

Chief, I leveled as disc, and raided as disc for a bit. And we weren't talking about pvp.
Or it's just that you all have horrific gear... holy scales far better than disc.
Trial of The crusader... wow, you really do have the experience to back your shit up.

 

Id take a holy over a disc priest in my togc grp anyday, disc priests are usefull in 25 mans because their lack of heals is made up by the 3-4 other healers. And their and damage reduction is useful

 

I won't bother wasting my time on forums, obviously if you think disc priest is my only character you are mistaken 8)
