Sword Art Online VR Game Has Some Progress

The page just posted this and I'm keen to see if they keep showing cool stuff like this. Thought other people might be interested.

 

It's interesting but seems far fetched and for the most part just taking advantage of the people that want to see this game become a reality. They claim to be working on their own version of the famous "nervegear" as used in the anime sword art online but in reality what can they do and are they even working on it?

They have no ties to the oculous rift or the Sony VR headset so they are going to try and create a similar product out of nothing posting nothing more than a google image of the nerve gear from SAO as proof? sketchy to say the least.

I am a huge fan of SAO and watch the new episodes that come out weekly but I can still see where people are taking advantage of others just because they want to see something like this become a reality.

Oculous Rift is going to go to shit now that Facebook bought them and will most likely be used in the beginning with Facebook mini games and social media type interactions. This type of headset is no more than a computer screen an inch away from your eyes, I can make that a reality by learning forward a bit, so really nothing special. The technology that anyone that knows anything about Virtual Reality would include a fully submersable VR where you are the character in the game not still using a keyboard/mouse, gaming controller, or treadmill while wearing a computer screen on your head.

Thanks for the post though even though it may seem that I am over analyzing it or being judgmental it in no way refers to you only the piece of shit companies that will delay the true science that is required to make this a reality just to milk the eyeball tvs as much as possible. We would be lucky to have anything close to sword art online in our lifetime but the sad truth is there probably wont be, now get to class and prove me wrong!

I really enjoyed the first 13 eps of sword art, mainly because I liked the concept and the world they were in.
I don't think it would be a very good game to play (especially if they intend to be the first MMO to be VR) Other game companies will just use their work on sao and make a better game by removing any glitches that occur from wearing a headset.

 

Yeah no way, great series though.

 

They never said they are creating a nervegear? They are making a video game? I've talked with the developers and the nervegear is just for a cutscene apparently.

 

whattt that would just be insane comming from a huge sao fan, maybe in like 30 years haha

 

With the team behind it, progress is going to be slow and painful to begin with. I actually know exactly who this is, and he's been working on this overall project for about a year, and recently it's started to look somewhat semi serious.

We'll be gaming in our sleep in time, gentlemen. In time....

 

Where have I heard of this... Sword Art Online? Sounds very familiar. I looked on the link and have no idea what it is.

 

I doubt anything like soa will be made in our life time, but well never kno any epic discovery could one day make this possible. Id love vr pking on runescape haha. Ud still be clrd tho.
