What are the requirements to get the Graphics Forum Participant one?

Bumping this up. I was searching through the Gfx Tuts & Resources and noticed that there are links to free icons. One subsection of that is for flags specifically. They all come with the option of 32x32px I think. Have a look for yourself: http://www.iconarchive.com/category/flag-icons.html

Would this be something easy to implement and would it be of interest to people? I think this one covers just about all of the countries (~261 icons) and takes ~13.1MB for all the PNG files (smaller I'm sure if you only use 32x32px).

If this is of interest, I will personally go through and collect all of the 32x32px flags and compile them.

 

How about for joining Sythe.Org Steam Group ?
Will there be anyone who would support this ?

 

You would have to find one that differentiates from the Steam AV - which I'm not sure who officially has that rank.

Yeah, I'm thinking what icon can represent if people join the Steam Group. Something different I suppose. Maybe same icon but with Group text in it ?

 

How about something along the lines of "Protector of Sythe"? It could be awarded if a member constantly reports bad posts, etc.? No idea if it's a good idea, just throwing it out there.

 

Possibly, but we'd have to see what it looks like. It may be too easily confused with the AVs.

Why not just add some of the main flags (UK, USA) as an option for everyone; so you don't have to manage it?

What about the CDT member, OGV member, Runescape participant, Change community participant from community general to all parts of our community that aren't exclusive or non-post count (Community General + all parts of Town Hall), Lowering the requirements for certain mini-ranks in sections that are less active e.g. graphics forum and sub-section ones, event participant?

 

If you add in the main flags, everyone's gonna wonder why their country doesn't have a flag. We have a location box. That should be enough IMO.

As for flags, not a problem. I completely understand the problem with it. Just thought it might have been something cool. I understand the problems with implementation.

 

I'm wondering how will someone achieve the Steam Group Rank. Someone needs to be in charge of this I suppose? I've created the steam group and I have created a new thread under the Steam Sales section. I did talked to djweasel about this, he agreed on getting it stickied sometime soon.

 

Have them PM their sythe name to a group admin. Let the group admins compile a list of people to provide for the Global Mod to add mini-ranks. Do it once a week/twice a month. This way it won't clutter up GMs inbox and will still add the tag to people who wish to be in it. Will also keep their privacy on the forums from whom they are in SG. Mine is kind of obvious though.

 

Sounds like a good idea. Once the group gets roling, I'll start compiling names and start sending them to the admins/mods.

 

Does it count only these two subforums? Or it also counts the Discussion/Questions and the Marketplace aswell? I'm asking this because I'm sure I already made the 10 posts in 7 days plenty of times before, and never got the minirank.
