I need some suggestions for a build

I have everything for my PC, minus the motherboard.

    The CPU is a an AMD FX-8350. - http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRH...F8&qid=1393200504&sr=8-2&keywords=amd+fx+8350

    Case- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146075
I know its cheap, but I didn't see any reason to spend 100+ on a case just for its looks.

Anyways, I'd like to spend less than 100 on a motherboard, but if its absolutely needed, ill go around 200.

This says that it supports an 8 core processor: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-M5A97-R2...F8&qid=1392012669&sr=1-6&keywords=motherboard

is there any reason I couldn't/don't want to use it? Will it even fit in the case?
    Thanks :)

    GPU: GTX 770
    PSU: Corsair 750 watt
    Ram 8GB (dual channel)
    1tb 7200 RPM hard drive.

If you need any additional info, let me know.

Under can you elaborate more on what exactly your building this for?

We need a little more than just what you've listed... Like your price range, etc. What exactly you have, etc. It's all important to us actually helping you out. :)

I'm going to be using it for gaming, I actually have the whole PC set up, I'm just swapping out the motherboard and cpu.

I'll list all of the individual parts in the original post :)

It's not the most feature rich motherboard but it'll fit.

This is what I'm curious about. What sort of features am I missing out on by buying a cheaper board? I won't be overclocking.

Well, when I initially looked over the specs of the motherboard, it looked like a really nice board.... And then I looked more closely at the specs. PCI-E 2.0 (x16/4)

    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/ASUS-M5A97-R20-Motherboard/1772

The problems with that will be that if you put in a graphics card (such as your GTX 770) that uses PCI-E 3.0, it will be severely bottlenecked on your board.

It's also limited on USB 3.0 external ports, but that's no big deal so long as you don't have a million external devices that use that. I'm not sure if TBT has any other limiting factors on this device aside from those two initials, but yeah. :)

Older audio chipset, PCI slots, PCI-E 2.0, lack of USB 3.0 ports.

I've been told PCI-E 3.0 is just more of a future proofing thing, and that even a titan or 780ti will work at full with 2.0
