Pokémon Black and White 2

Seeing as the UK release is tommorow, I thought i'd make a thread seeing as there isn't one.

Intro:



Battle against Misty (featuring remixed Gen 1 music) and Black/White Kyurem.



Thoughts?

EDIT: Thought i'd stick this in here, as the music gave me a full on nostalgia-gasm.

 

Came out here in the US a few days ago I believe. I have a few friends who have nothing but good feedback for it. I'm not an avid fan of having to learn all of these new Pokemon but I know sometime down the road I'll cave in and end up buying one of these .

 

I'm finding a hard time these days keeping up to date. Theres still something about the original 151 that makes them the best.

 

Agreed. Honestly after Diamond and Pearl came out, I was having more fun trying to connect the "new" pokemon to the previously made pokemon then I was playing the game.

I'd say past Ruby / Sapphire they all started getting pretty redundant.

 

I'd have to agree. I bought a Game Boy Advance just for Sapphire version and didn't regret the decision. The sad reality is that I remember the storyline of Sapphire stronger than I do of the storylines of both Diamond and Black, which either means i'm losing interest in my older age, or the stories weren't as good. I don't have that drive to complete the dex as I used to, the last dex I filled being Leaf Greens.

I expect Black & White 2 to just be a rehash with some additional extras in place, and an altered storyline but I hope to be pleasently surprised.

I went out and bought the game.

I'm about 4 /12 hours in, and so far everything has been new content minus Castelia City, which is a bonus, with a mixed dex of monsters from all era's.

There is also a Wifi event on for a free Genesect Lv. 15 at the moment, and he's rather powerful.

 

Nice, I think I'll cave in sometime this week and buy it and end up wasting away next weekend on it, lol.

 

Just got Black 2 and I'm loving it.

 

I will always love Pokemon: Fire Red the best. But I'm debating on whether I should give this one a try or not.

 

I'll be picking up Black 2 just because. I typically have a favorite color that stands out each generation but these last two have just been toss ups for me.

 

Looks more cinematic than ever before which is a plus. Also, I liked how Golem has "sturdy" in that particular video. There's no doubt in my mind, once I return home in 7 weeks I'll have my eyes glued to that sucker. Left my GB home because I figured once B2/W2 came out I wouldn't focus on my agenda out here which is proving to be true

Got White 2, don't really like the new pokemon, they seem rather dull and pointless, but hey, thats what pokemon is for - The game is pretty good, but SoulSilver/HeartGold will never be topped, they are my favourites!

 

Agreed man, they almost all seem like remakes. But hey, I don't remember a time wehre I've played Pokemon and not had a good time .

 

I've been at Victory Road now since Wednesday but due to real life stuff i've not got back into it. Hopeing to dive back into it tommorow. My team are around level 60.

 

Beat the game today after ignoring it for so long. The Elite Four + Champion were suprisingly weak, and I destroyed them the first time round, some Elite Four without even getting hit once. I don't even train outside of beating trainers.

 

After getting the first white and didn't beat it, I pretty much came to the conclusion I shouldn't buy any more.

Last game I beat was Heart Gold, and that's only because I <3 gold.

 

Ha. I missed out on HeartGold, even though Gold is one of my favourites in the series because my DS modding went terribly wrong. I bought Black when I got a 3DS at launch.

EDIT: Theres a nice amount of post-game content, including the World Tournament where you can battle the Gym Leaders from every Generation, complete with reworked soundtrack which is awesome, although Legendaries are barred (sorry Genesect ). Black Tower, which is great for training, and the rewards at the end are either a shiny Gible (lv. 1) or Dratini (lv. 1) dependant on which version you have. Cynthia is fightable in Undella Town like she was in the last game, acompanied by that kick-ass battle theme, along with Alder again, your Rival in Undella Town and the GAME FREAK dude.

I haven't owned a hardcopy of any of the pokemon games since Crystal... I do have several on an emulator on my phone though, to include Emerald/Sapphire, Fire red/Leaf Green, etc.

 

Got Keldeo in boundaries crossed booster pack today lol

I have played every gen of games except black 2/white 2, I'll probably buy ina couple months before x and y cause busy atm.
