Remove the 'Don't make farewell threads for banned members' sticky. The problem with this is that some very known members want to thank the site and specific members, as well as express their gratitude (Ex. Lukef555). If a friend makes the farewell thread for them, I think it's fine.

    Support?

    I support.
It'd seem logical to allow one to post a Farewell thread for a banned friend/user.

No support. Any gratitude can be expressed to the person off-site.

This. If they were banned, it means they are not welcome on this site.

Exactly, which is why they have a close friend post a farewell thread on behalf of the banned user.

I don't think you understood Skele_Master's post. Their farewell topic is not welcome here.

But why not? If it's a well known member, they've obviously contributed something to the site, one way or another, and have met may people that they wish to thank.

support. sounds like people are just making rules to make rules. Make a farewell section with no post count. I really see no problem in it. Just seems like the people with power are flexing their forum supported muscles.

Does it really matter? Why make such unimportant rules?
