It sounds like either adware or a virus.

Install a decent antivirus such as AVG or Bitdefender and run a full system scan.

    ^ This

Also, check for any extensions or add-ons that might have been added or go through your programs and see if there's something you don't recall installing.
    Code:
    "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features"
Why are you still using IE? Lol.

Thanks for this, decided it was either to just system restore to yesterday; seems like it has done the trick, no more ads or anything.

    cos IE > all xD

Mozilla has a nice adblock plus add-on, blocks youtube ads and basically any ad you can think of.

Do you have Malwarebytes? If not, download it and run a quick scan. Looks like common bloatware (similar to that toolbar shit you can get from random downloads.)

ADWcleaner is the best for anti-browser bullshit.
    Malwarebytes is an overall boss.
Chrome is the best browser ffs anything > IE.
    Ccleaner is good to have.

speaking of adblocking software, how come when I try to remove arcusgold banner with element hiding helper it breaks half the site. I suppose that's a feature?
