Require Graphics Designer For IOS Development

We are currently in development of our first IOS App, this app will comprise of huge amounts of information as well as various calculators to assist one of the more difficult professions that is becoming popular. The app we're creating does not exist to the level we are creating in on the app store.

What we need?

We require a graphics designer, they will be in charge of backgrounds, logos, buttons etc. To make the app that little more appealing. What we are not going to do is throw our eggs into one basket and be let down. So this is why we're setting up this topic.

Think of this as more of a competition to grant yourself more work. You will re-create these images I've provided "Yes I'm a programmer not a Graphics Designer" and present them on the topic, please watermark your product so we cannot use it just yet, if you provide ones that we like. You will be given the opportunity to work for us or use you as a third-party graphics designer to cover the work we need. And rates/prices will be negotiated with you.

This app is based on Industrial Radiography and is intended to provide Radiographers and Radiation Protection Supervisors with the ability to gather any information they require whilst out on the field from their mobile phone.

So a hint of advice for your image, please do NOT make it look relative to gaming or anything like that, these images need to be completely sleek and professional, our target audience are not teenagers.

960x640 is the resolution, please attempt to create your own style be it similar or nothing a like. We are looking for a creative person.

I am not asking for free graphics, I just don't want to run the hills trying to find the perfect graphics designer for us. But if your graphics are not selected unfortunately it was just an opportunity to gain a contract from us.

The two images presented are the image sizes to recreate, I will add that to the main post. If you are interested in participating then you are to create it to your own style, but still keeping it within the format, that is radiation.

We are looking for someone who can create clean and slick backgrounds & User Interfaces whilst upholding a very professional standard.

 

Are you looking to hire a designer, or looking at submissions from each person and than deciding who to go with, or what design to use?

 

We aren't putting our efforts into hiring a designer, we would prefer to use one that we like as a third-party and pay them accordingly. The person chosen would receive high volumes of the work we require, we aren't really looking for a particular design, we are looking for something that somebody creates that gives our product an extra edge over the non-existent competition.

Also, we have great belief that our product will be very successful in the market we are forcing it into. And our next project will be exactly the same. So if someone finds themselves helping us on this endeavour they could potentially have a client requiring their full-time.

So we are looking for peoples submissions and will choose the person who appeals to us the most. Sorry if I haven't been clear.

Good to hear, the app has now been accepted to the app store. Will will require someone for a full graphics re-work of the app. But as the app spreads through our local "word of mouth", I just hope our not-so-great graphics will put off any potential customers.

I think you're working this wrong. Yes, your graphics need a rework big time because they're super unappealing, but what I think you need is to brand it. Get a logo first and then build off the logo.

 

Thanks for your input, we do currently have a logo. But our logo doesn't merge with our application(s) as we try to keep them set apart. Our focus is to create something that will suit the application over suiting the logo.

If you're referring to the app-icon then yes, we would like to keep that within the same design.

We are just currently looking for people who're interested and show us some good examples of their work when it comes to user-interfaces and layout.

This is what our current calculator screen looks like.

 

Consider preparing a design document specifying the parameters, description of each parameter, and whether or not there will be visible output based on user-input.

How many screens are there? What information needs to be communicated on each screen to the user? Is there user input? If so, where will output be returned?

(Your post states "various calculators" but doesn't specify what to include aside from values 0-9 and operators.) Are there any custom equations/expressions provided by you that we should include as buttons? (Along those lines...)

It's difficult to get a head start on a project when there is a lack of information to communicate graphically (per your request). Anyone looking to attempt this needs the necessary data and/or information in order to visually translate this as requested.

 

The information would be provided to the designer in the next stages if we were to accept them to work for/with us, for now.. We are simply looking for someone who can re-create the images that we've provided nothing more nothing less..

 

Even the images in the first post are the size of a thumbnail. There is nothing discernible about either image provided (especially the second image) making it a difficult task to balance buttons/input with the background.

Re-post the second image at a sensible, higher resolution so everyone above might have an idea of the direction and information at the very least. This goes hand-inhand with Emperor_Nero's comment on the logo being provided to better understand the direction.

 

I'm suggesting branding it and having the name out there. When you think about products what do you first think of? Well does it have a good name behind it? If you buy something Sony you know you're getting an fortune 500 type product. Branding and positioning is important. You need to capitalize on the lack of competition and make your name THE NAME for your field.

 

You are correct, and this is our aim, we're currently in progress with our second application that targets the same audience but in a completely different criteria. The images you provide us with will more than likely NOT be used, we are simply looking for someone who will produce a user interface graphically and logically in the same context as the images provided. In their style, we would like to then give that person whom we choose the opportunity to create our graphics for our applications. Which will then be scrutinised to create the perfect end product.

Let me say again, the image you submit will most likely not be used. We are looking for someone who can show us an image based on the ones provided with your graphical expertise, and change it to how you would present it and if we like what we see then we will give you everything you need to know. Where you as the graphics designer can piece together the puzzle and create pretty much exactly what you just said.

I am not sure why you are seeing the images as thumbnails, as they're the correct resolution on my screen.
