Cheapest way to 55 mage?

I'm currently at 39 with just 70k. Just wondered if anyone knew the cheapest way to get there ;/

 

I would say to wither mine your own rss and make runes or just try buying runes at not way overpriced or maybe buy them from the shop yourself if it's cheaper

 

But which spell etc?

 

When I was aging an 06 server k always did wind strike and armed either that or you could do teleports go law rune running for an hr or so that will get you like 200+ laws not quite sure on amounts but hey it's free runes

 

Put full melee gear, such as iron full helm, iron plate, iron kite, iron legs. Vambs too. Anything that reduces your magic attack. Get an earth staff, buy water and body runes. You can get water and body for as low as 4 and 3 each respectively. Use Curse, if I remember correctly it was the level 19 spell. You gain 29 exp per cast, and it costs as low as 10gp. You'll most likely have to pay more than 4 per rune though. There's a zammy mage in varrock castle, cast your spells there. I believe it was around 25k exp an hour.

 

I always used to do the best spell I could on the guards, but the best method is cursing with a staff of earth, some waters and some body runes. I'd personally go to varrock castle and do it there against the caged zammy monk wearing stuff that makes your magic attack under 55 or 65 (think it's 65), or the skeletons at the wilderness border. The skele's get killed more often though
