    Smoking

in my country ( germany) smoking has been banned altogether in public places (only in some states though), including resaurants and, hold tight:

    waterpipe bars/lounges.
(places ppl come to smoke waterpipes/ hookahs/nargiles )

is it correct to ban a shop owner of alowing ppl to smoke in his lounge, when the basic idea of his shop is a place to smoke?

    i think not.

    It depends.

There should be some legislation to say that if you own a restraunt where the prinicpal is to go there and smoke, that you should be able to smoke inside.

But you should have to apply for the certificate to show that you are allowed. You shoudl aso have to have a sign on the front door or something.

Where I live (here in ol' Australia :p) smoking has been banned not in public places, but in all indoors public places e.g. not your own house.

    Just my $0.02

I think smoking should be banned totally everywhere. Yesterday my dad (doctor) had to do 7 lung operations just because the people are god damn smokers. Why the fuck isn't it banned yet. Its causing health problems everywhere and a person who smokes near another who has dies of smoking related diseases should be charged with man slaughter.

And even worse one of my dad's patients died because there were no Intensive care Unit beds left (blame Peter beatie) and the smokers.

This is all in australia, the government has done allot to limit smokers such as no smoking in public places only dedicated smoking areas and not within 4m from another person.

    But it should be stricter.

well, you cant just ban smoking all together.
    1. many ppl will lose their jobs
    2. ppl will still be addicted to nicotine and then they will not be able to keep their addiction safe by feeding it
    3. smoking is not illegal and if ppl want to go around hurting themselves, let them coz its their fault spending money to eventually kill themselves...

wow that sounds pretty unfair. but overall smoking is in no ways beneficial to mankind. it's unhealthy to those who smoke and those around them that inhale the smoke :/

i dont think smoking should be banned altogether aswell, because that would then affect mans free will.

If ppl want to smoke, then they have the right to do so, elthough i have to add that they should not smoke near ppl who dont want them to smoke there,

Smoking is a general violation of peoples rights.

    I do not smoke,
    but I do smoke passively,

and I do NOT want to smoke passively,

but I am forced to, because other people around me do.

In my country, England, smoking has just been banned
in public places, but really, it doesn't even scratch the surface of difference.

Here in Calgary, it has not been banned totally, but u cant smoke in public places, eg, parks, and such. But even though u can get fined, ppl still smoke in those areas, and its even harder when some of those ppl are mother f&@#ing jackasses, and drunks. Ive had smoke blown at me just because i cover my nose with my shirt. Too bad I can get fined for socking them for doing that.

    Smoking is just stupid.
    Waste of money and health.

I think they should just stop selling tobacco.
