Need help finding historical figures with tragic lives/deaths

I have an idea for a song and I always like to tie in different things to my lyrics so I am looking for all the historical people you can mention [prefer pre 1900's if possible] that have had any of the following or something like the following.

-bad childhood ~ abuse/had to survive alone/lots of deaths of loved ones etc.
-forlorn love

just anything really that is just sad or would make you angry/upset

 

Google is your friend. If you were more specific in relevance to what genre of historical figures that may help.

 

I've been looking through google so far the only one of interest is the story of romulus and remus and it can realisticly be anything that after you're done reading their story you just think " damn thats sad" "or damn that person went through a lot in their life" it can be historical figures like MLK, or even possible fictional characters such as stories in the bible [not knocking religion mind you]
