Chargebacks?

Hello,

So i recently had this issue.
I sold some rs2007 gp to an customer from my gold shop.
And next day he did an chargeback.

My Question is:

What is the best way to proof that the buyer got the goods?
Or what can i do, to avoid this happening?

Im really new in the gold selling business so need some help of your knowers.

What did i do?
I just sended an skype chat with all information on it to paypal.:
- amount send to me
- time
- my paypal email.

Is this enough?

What i think i can do:
Just make a quick printscreen when i accept the trade and then save it with
the customer paypal transaction id.

But how can i proof it was him? and not someone else?

You can never avoid a chargeback when you use PayPal to deal. There is always a chance of it happening.

What is the chargeback labelled as? Unauthorized Claim/Non-Receipt and a few more?

I heard PayPal doesn't look at proof(screenshots etc), not really sure though.

 

so there is actually no solution for this?

 

PlayerAuctions, they deal with the chargeback. Whether or not the buyer attempts to chargeback PA will deal with it. PlayerAuctions does keep a 10% +$1 fee for all transactions, which is deducted from the seller's $. It's more complicated and it can be an issue to explain it to your customers. For small trades, to verify their account, they would send the buyer a text message. The buyer will have to provide their mobile number. For large trades, they will ask you for more things, such as an ID and a bill (electricity for eg) with your name on it.

One thing I suggest doing is setting up a "Merchant Checkout" page on your paypal. (like this: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=P9H62JLYR9E7Q )

It adds an extra layer of defense for you as users can then not claim they didn't know what they were paying for, as it's clearly stated there. It's not a surefire win, but it definitely helps drastically. After I started using those, it helped me win a majority of disputes/chargebacks.

Unfortunately there's the chance of people paying w/ fraudulent paypals, which in that case, you're almost never going to win the dispute (although I've somehow won a few)

 

Player auctions is good but not 100% secure, they've never asked me once for Id or anything when doing trades larger than $250. I've also had $100 worth of chargebacks to due an unauthorised claim, which had been done from a foreign ip (probably a VPN). You're never 100% safe.
