Chargebacks (Help!)

Well i began selling upgrades, I sold over 50 successful without anything happening....Well i thought so. Today i logged onto my PayPal and i had a dispute. Went to check it out and somebody tried charging back. Came back later and another person charged back. (Whats peoples deal?) You can even check my vouches they both said thanks for the upgrade!

My question is: I had them write in the note section "Payment for Goods, that I have already received" and made sure they sent as gift. Are they going to win? Am i? How do i can addition evidence to give to PayPal? How can i avoid this in the future? Etc.

All help would be appreciate!

Sorry to say, but they are most likely to win. When I was selling them 1 in every 50 I would sell they would charge back and win. The note itself doesn't always work. Making them pay with the gift option does help if you're going to sell more in the future.

For the proof: Give them pictures of the msn chat. Hopefully that'll work.

On PayPal, there's no method with to not be chargedback. This is because asking the other person involved in the transaction to send the cash as a gift can only prevent them from charging back for goods, etc. However they can still create a dispute saying that someone had unauthorized access to there account. Showing PayPal images that you sold them an item, etc won't necessarily work because that's not the reason the cash was chargedback. Also, even if there was a method to block disputes on PayPal, the person could still call there credit card company or Bank and attempt to charge the money back through that.

You'll most likely lose the case, however it's worth calling PayPal and asking them to tell them the situation.

okay il give paypal a call. Is that going to stop the chargeback or just explain that this guy isnt trusted?

 

I've sold someone a rs item for $ and had them charge me back. I countered the dispute and won. Here's how:

Step 1: Call paypal. Explain that you are a seller of virtual goods and that someone is trying to get their money back for something you sold them

Step 2: They'll be like "Ok thanks, but we still need you to provide information online". Take screenshots of your chat logs (chat logs are fine, you don't need active windows), and highlight the parts that confirm that you sold it. Things like the buyer saying "thanks" or "will vouch" etc.

3. If you did step 1 and 2 correctly, it should go in your favor. As to how to avoid this in the future, you really can't. Just take screenshots of all your conversations, and always tell your buyer to state the paypal email from which they will be paying you within the conversation so you have record of that too.

If you ask them to donate instead of send as a gift you're even less likely to lose a chargeback.

I don't think that you will lose these disputes as it's extremely difficult to win a chargeback after paying through a gift.

It's like sending someone a present in real life, then saying that they want the present back - that's how paypal view it.

Make sure that you reply to the dispute but at the bare minimum to avoid paypal going against you.

Just one thing I noticed no one told you how to tell if it was sent as a gift. You can click the payment and in details look at the fees that you had to pay, if it's 0$ then they sent it as a gift. Good luck winning your charge back and remember to report them here and get them banned.
