What gear for Ape Atoll?

I'm planning on getting my range up on Ape Atoll monkeys. I'll be using Hati paws.
My range is currently 80, and my defense is 45.
What's the best gear setup to get the most XP?

Are you chinning in Ape Atoll or are you going to kill the gorillas?

Anyway, there isn't much variation available to you at those levels. Since you are using Hati Paws, you can only use the Void Knight set if you have a Void Knight Deflector. If you have one, then I suggest you bring the following:

Head: VK range helm
Torso: Elite VK Torso > VK Torso
Legs: Elite VK Robe > VK Robe
Boots: Ranger Boots > Snakeskin Boots
Gloves: Hati Gloves
Shield: VK Deflector
Amulet: Fury > Amulet of Ranging (I'd use a fury for the prayer bonus)
Cape: Ava's Device > High Prayer Cape if Chinning


If you have no VK Deflector, then just go with standard black d'hide armor and a god book in your shield spot.

 

I find that (elite) ranged void works best when chinning.

 

The problem with using a void set is that you need to use either the gloves or a deflector. Since he wants to use Hati Paws, he would need to have already done 1250 conquest points to get the deflector.

 

Use archer helm, black dhide, basicly best range gear you can use.

 

Void probably IS the best for chinning, but if you do not have Elite Void, OR you do not have the deflector and you obviously want to replace the void gloves with hati paws, there are alternatives

I chinned to 99 range wearing a setup like this:

Archer Helm
Range amulet or Amulet of Fury
Black D'hide body
Black D'hide legs
Red Chins
Unholy book (for both attack bonuses + prayer)
Snakeskin boots
Barrows gloves/Hati Paws
Archer ring/Ring of life (ROL is highly reccomended if you will be half AFK)
Reverence Aura
Skillcape/Ancient Cloak for prayer bonuses

Now this setup obviously does not hit as good as void with its hidden bonuses, but when I got 99 range I didn't have a single void piece, or know much about it, and so I found this a good alternative.

I HAVE trained to 99 range on a friend's account with the full void ranger set, and I can say from experience that it does not make a huge difference. Void does hit a bit harder and more accurately, which affects your exp over the course of a few hours, but with Hati paws you are going to be getting insane exp anyways. Just be sure to bring 1-2 range potions per trip, along with 1-2 super antipoisons, 1-2 rocktails, and the rest prayer potions. If you can (and don't mind the trips going by alot faster), then use eagle eye or rigour if you have it!

I have no Void at all unfortunately, and it probably takes a long time so I might just go with Black D'hide top and bottom, archer helm, skill cape(t), archer ring, hati paws, ranger boots, and a god book

 

That will definitely do the trick
