Thoughts On Our New Site?

I like the color scheme, and the website is simple and very effective. The only thing I don't like is the green background for the x-box products. It throws off the color scheme.

 

Very clear cut and straight to the point. I disagree about the green background, I think it makes it seem to pop out more. I do not like the cookie policy thing in the bottom corner, not sure what that is about, but I do not allow cookies to be stored on my computer after each session.

 

Simplicity isn't always the best look. It's easy on the eyes but at the same time not catching it (if you know what I mean).

 

IIRC, there was a law passed in the UK or possibly the US that any website that stores cookies has to inform you.

The green colors is ugly, pale shade. If it were the crisper more emerald shade of the actual x-box logo it'd be more effective and slightly more tolerable, but I still stand with ditching it and going for white.

 

Def not the US. Or many sites are not following that law haha.

OP: The green is kinda a pukeish green, emerald might make it hard to see the letters, have you considered going with a lighter green (not neon), but something that still has contrast with the white letters.

I like it, the simple yet professional layout looks good. Maybe you could add a little more colour in the white areas.

 

Thanks guys, we're still changing the banners and all that so it can be adapted to the site. So 3 banners and when clicked they take you to either Xbox, PS3 or PC games. We'll add a few more colors as you guys suggested, we also have store cookies for the user preferences. It tells us what you went on and what you viewed which we'll use to improve the site, etc etc. About the green, we'll have a chat and see what we can come up with. Thanks for the advice!

 

I think it is quite nice! It is both simple, yet not overwhelming. What was the reasoning behind the far right "Cart" not also shifting and not doing what the others do? Also the text when you hover over xbox is just odd and doesn't seem to fit or go along everything else. Hope these comments help! It seems like a pretty sweet site!!!

 

I'm a big fan of flat design, and you've implemented it well. My only concern is your hyperlinks. Completely get rid of any css style to do with it and re-do.

I love the three large buttons you get right when you load the page. Very clear and to the point, it's awesome.

Although do you carry any products for mac? and will ALL of your products work on windows 8 (you're using a windows 8 symbol if I am not mistaken). What about windows 7 products?
