Official Verifiers for software market

Similar to an OGV team, but different, they would be taking it upon themselves to check for malicious code and to verify it works as it says.

Obviously this would be more difficult than verifying a guide since you would need a background to be able to assure other sythe members that they will not get hacked from a script of a keylogger.

My idea is only a base of course, different stipulations could be added to make this a very safe practice.

 

To be honest, I don't think one is needed; you can always just PM an administrator/moderator about it.

 

I think reviews work fine because it would be complicated to maintain as a mod or member considering the script can always be updated and handed out without being checked again by a mod.

 

I would support this, Cause staff members seems so busy at here, that would be less work for mods/admins

 

I'm inclined to agree with Punjabi and Superman. Not even near enough activity to have an actual team of verifiers. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a trusted member and/or a Staff Member to give you a handy review. Especially if you end up giving them a free copy

 

You can just get *trusted* member reviews. Works great.

 

It doesn't have enough activity for it to have OGVs. Like the users above me have stated, just get a trusted member/moderator to do the reviews. That being said, no support.

 

After thinking about it, members can still put keyloggers in it or malicious code after they give it to the trusted members, or have one with a keylogger and one without.

I haven't posted in like 3 years, and have been lurking this whole time, so congratulations on getting me to finally post my opinion about something.

 

Although pming a trusted member works, that doesn't really prevent plagiarism. I think we need to set up some sort of council of members from Villavu so they can check if any scripts are stolen.

 

It's a lot of effort for a section which isn't overly active. It's a great idea sure, but really can't see Sythe making anything official.

As people have said, it's easy enough just to get a trusted member to review the guide for you, especially when they're getting it for free.

So why don't we put it in place to make the software section safer therefore bringing more people to it, making it active. It couldn't hurt to start now, mods would need to appoint a few Srl members and they could make sure it isn't anything made from somebody else. Plus they would be better judges on the quality of scripts as they are scripters themselves. They would go beyond just "it works like its supposed too" judging the code's worth.



And I'm just throwing this out but shouldn't we have a rule for updating of scripts? There should be a rule for a scripter must update their script for a set period of time if it breaks because isn't it exactly like recovering a account if the script doesn't work after a month?

And I can see where you're going with this, and you're right it could work out, I personally just don't think it would, and it would end up being a waste of time and effort. But that's just my personal opinion, I could be very wrong.

 

There are plenty of members who you can contact and most programmers are more than happy to help you.

 

No support. Most people just PM Govind or Blupig to have it verified. Good idea anyway.

 

It's not a bad idea, but I don't see many people taking up this role, and besides I don't think the section is active enough yet.

 

PM a member of the staff with experience in programming (Blupig, Clashfan, etc.) if you're unsure about a script.
