    Changing Os systems and problems

ok, I have two 2-3 year old (gateway) computers and some guy put two trail verisons of windows 7. Well I want to change to vista on both..
I downloaded on piratebay one onto flash drive not sure if I should try seems legit.

Any ideas and any information would be great. I have never installed new Os systems onto computers.

Also I would like to mention one of the computers just gets a freeze screen from time to time and I have NO idea what is going on. Doesn't happen often but it does. Both computers run fast and picks up wireless internet well.

I scan both for virus malware and did a disk defragment and deleted all dump files.. Not sure what else to do for the fronze one. Should changing os fix them?

I have no idea where to start.

Piratebay has free versions but they're not compete versions.

You best bet is to just buy a version off eBay from someone who is willing to upload the OS to a file hosting website or just buy a Vista CD from BestBuy.

    ^^not always..
You can get "free" versions of windows some places.

A usually sure fire fix it to just format the hard drive and reinstall whatever OS your using or want to try.

You might need to put what is on your flash drive to CD, then shut down and go to your bios (firmware operating system) by pressing a certain button usually f4 f10 etc during the first boot sequence. Once in your bios look for "Boot sequence" change this to boot from cd rom. Now exit with changes saved, reboot from CD and you should have several options, you need to Format your hard drive (erase all data) to continue with installation, use NTFS file system when prompted and it's all standard from there. You will need CD-keys unless your version has pre-installed keys.

After installation make sure to change your bios settings back. And yes it very well could fix your problem, if it does not then your problem is Hardware based (physical.)
