Changed my mind about Paypal

So about 2-3 weeks ago I sold some guy 33m RSGP. He went about the trade very legitimately, until about 2 minutes later he charged it back. I didn't take any screenies/proofs during the trade, as he had enough vouches to seem trustworthy. After he charged back, knowing that I had no proof, I just simply left my Paypal in the red and let the investigation play out by itself. Lo and behold, I got this email this week.



Wait... what??? Paypal gave me my money back! Maybe they're starting to actually look at disputes.

 

It happends mate sorry for your loss, try buying from more legit members lucster and video all legit sellers 100+ vouches

Good for you, the stupid scammer probably shouldn't have claimed fraud so quickly so that's a tactical error on his end

 

It means thankfully you had an idiot scammer who did the chargeback on his normal IP. Hopping on a proxy or going to an internet cafe would have made it turn out differently.

 

Ah, so I see it's not so common. If they chargeback, and succeed, what happens? Do you just stay in negative money, or does Paypal limit you?

Obviously did not read the post at all... Also, if I was buying from someone as he suggests, chargebacks wouldn't be a problem for me.

 

Don't bring wise thoughts to stupid scammers, maybe next time he's using your tip

So even basic proxys work wtf.. honestly i think such a large an "trusted" money handler should do more investigations or have more investigative power. Surely they have the money to ring the proxy service/VPN company up an find out which IP was givin at which times ?

 

Lol scammer is an idiot. Tried to do this all from his own IP XD I wonder what happens to the people who get caught trying to do this? Limited or locked paypal account I assume?

Lo and behold, the scammer actually contacted me yesterday and tried to scam me again under a different Sythe name. She is now banned (again) Victory is sweet.

It's against the paypal TOS to buy/sell virtual items; it would be far too much work to investigate every single chargeback for a virtual item, it just isn't feasible for a business like paypal to support that type of intangible trade.
